Visitors to Garvan Woodland Gardens have a new reason to get an early start this summer.
Through Labor Day, the Hot Springs botanical garden will open daily at 7:30 a.m., giving guests more time to explore its trails, gardens and Lake Hamilton views during the cooler morning hours. The temporary schedule runs from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., with last admission at 5:30 p.m.
The earlier hours also give visitors an opportunity to bring their dogs along for a morning walk. Leashed dogs are welcome at the Gardens, which spans more than 200 acres of gardens, woodland and shaded trails.
Beyond the landscape itself, guests can experience “Where the Wind Lives,” a large-scale aerial art installation by internationally recognized artist Patrick Shearn and Poetic Kinetics. The colorful installations shift with the wind and changing light, with three pieces located throughout the Gardens: Avian Rainbow above the Great Lawn, Color Cascade in the Evans Children’s Adventure Garden and Flight Paths at the Millsap Canopy Bridge.
The Gardens also has a calendar of summer programming, including children’s camps, educational programs, horticulture offerings, art workshops and other activities for visitors of all ages.
Visitors can purchase admission online in advance for the best admission value. Those planning to visit throughout the year can also consider a Garvan Woodland Gardens membership, which includes general admission and additional member benefits.
Regular hours will resume after Labor Day.
