Weekend Plans: Food Trucks, A Flower Show and More


Support local chefs this Thursday at the first Food Truck Meetup of the season at The Good Earth Garden Center. The line up includes: Katmandu MOMO, BlackHound Bar B Q, Cypress Knee Food, Shambala Mobile Vegan Kitchen, LLC, Stone’s Throw Brewing and Say Cheese Food Truck. Good Earth is located at 5601 Cantrell Rd. in Little Rock. Trucks will be serving food from 5 to 8 p.m.

Friday and Saturday

It’s marathon weekend in Little Rock and headquarters is the Health and Fitness Expo at the Statehouse Convention Center, 101 East Markham Street. More than 70 exhibitors will showcase a wide array of products and services geared toward runners, walkers and health minded consumers, as well as the latest advancements in distance running and walking, fitness and nutrition. Times are Friday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The top 35 bull riders in the world compete against the fiercest bucking bulls on the planet at PBR: Professional Bull Riders Bad Boy Mowdown at Verizon Arena this weekend. Experience two hours of thrills and spills guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat and your heart pounding. Friday the show starts at 7:45 p.m. and Saturday at 6:45 p.m. Tickets start at $18.

Friday through Sunday

Shop for plants and gardening items at over 150 vendor booths at the 27th Annual Flower and Garden Show. Find inspiration for your own garden and landscape at the Arkansas State Fairgrounds, 2600 Howard St. in Little Rock, Friday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Show highlights include: live indoor display gardens, amazing floral designs and hands-on children’s workshops on Sunday. Tickets are $10 for adults and free for children 12 and under.


The 19th Academy Awards Night Gala is a black tie affair featuring a live broadcast of the Academy Awards complete with red carpet arrivals and paparazzi! There will be a silent auction, live auction, live music and more. The Gala raises funds to operate Wolfe Street Center and develop programming that educates the community about alcoholism and substance use. Tickets start at $250. The event starts at 5 p.m. and is held at Robinson Center Ballroom in Little Rock.
