What: Taste of the Holidays
Where: Mid-America Science Museum (Hot Springs)

Enjoy the holiday event of the year in Hot Springs this Thursday at the Mid-America Science Museum. Benefiting educational programming at the museum, Taste of the Holidays is an annual fundraiser that features science experiments, great food and drinks and a wonderful silent auction. Don’t miss out on the event’s wine wall, along with live music. Tickets are $75 in advance and $90 on the day of the event. What: Parkview Theatre’s Antigone
Where: Parkview Theatre (2501 Barrow Rd., Little Rock)
When: 7:30 p.m.
Experience the Greek playwright Sophocles’ play Antigone, composed in 442 BCE, which has gained new relevance in today’s age. Parkview Arts/Science Magnet School is presenting Nicholas Rudall’s translation of the play, which tells the story of Antigone, the daughter of King Oepdius, as she rebels against the new king. Her actions set in motion an inescapable series of events. Tickets are available at the theater box office one hour prior to opening for $7.

Thursday, Nov. 15-Saturday, Nov. 17
What: Dazzle Daze
Where: Conway Expo Center and Fairgrounds
When: Thursday: 6-9 p.m., Friday: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m., Saturday: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Get all your shopping done in one fell swoop at Dazzle Daze. This three-day shopping marathon features merchants from around the state the country, offering everything from jewelry to gourmet food, home décor to women’s clothing and art to men’s items. Kids can get their picture made with Santa or have fun at a Teddy Bear Clinic on Friday and Saturday Dazzle Daze is an annual fundraiser that benefits the Conway Regional Women’s Council, and proceeds will benefit medical scholarships, new equipment, and community programs. Tickets are $7.50 online and $10 at the door for general shopping on Friday or Saturday. Children under 12 get in free. Thursday is Girl’s Night Out, and tickets are $30 online and $40 at the door. Don’t forget to sign up for $40,000 in prizes, including a 2018 Ford Mustang Ecosport Coupe and other great prizes. Raffle tickets are $100 and are limited to 500. What: Festival of Trees
Where: Statehouse Convention Center – Wally Allen Ballroom
When: Thursday and Saturday: 6 p.m., Friday: 5 p.m.
CARTI presents its 42ndannual CARTI Auxiliary Festival of Trees, marking the real beginning of the Christmas season in Little Rock. On Friday, enjoy a fashion show that is just like a professional runway show in New York. On Saturday, take a gamble at the silent auctions while you dine and dance to the Dizzy 7. This is a can’t miss event! Thursday’s event is already sold out, but tickets for Friday and Saturday are still available. Tickets for Friday are $50 each and Saturday tickets are $250 each. What: Make it Merry
Where: Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub
When: 5-8 p.m.
Come out and have some fun at the Arkansas Innovation Hub! Put your creativity to use to make your holiday presents at the Hub. You can make holiday totes, t-shirts, and laser-cut ornaments. You can even have a snowball fight in virtual reality! Tickets for maker participants are $15 presale and $20 at the door. Non-participants can observe for free. What: Turkey Bowl
Where: Professor Bowl (901 Towne Oaks Dr., Little Rock)
When: 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
Roll a strike for Junior Achievement of Arkansas at the annual Turkey Bowl. Enjoy two games of bowling, along with plenty of food and adult beverages while you benefit a great organization. JAA is aiming to raise $45,000, so start your fundraising! Registration for the Turkey Bowl is $50 per bowler, with five bowlers per team. Every bowler will get to bowl a frozen turkey for the chance to win a Thanksgiving turkey!

Saturday, Nov. 17
What: 2018 Walk to End Alzheimer’s
Where: Clinton Presidential Park
When: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Take a walk this Saturday to support Alzheimer’s research. The Alzheimer Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event for Alzheimer’s care and research, and is held in over 600 communities across the nation, including Little Rock. There’s no fee for The Walk to End Alzheimer, but participants are encouraged to fundraise. Raising $100 gets you an official Walk t-shirt. This year, the Little Rock Walk is aiming to raise $165,000.
What: Month of the Military Family Carnival
Where: Little Rock AFB Airman & Family Readiness Center
When: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Have a fun-filled Saturday at the Little Rock Air Force Base as you enjoy carnival games, pony rides and a petting zone. Did we mention the free food? You can also find an art show, a car show, along with arts & crafts and a photo booth. There is something for the whole family at this carnival. For more information, call 987-2667.

What: Paws with Santa Claus
Where: Cammack Village City Hall (2710 N. McKinley St. Cammack Village)
When: Saturday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sunday: 12 – 5 p.m.
The holidays aren’t complete without a holiday picture! Make sure your pets aren’t left out of the fun. Bring your furry friends to Cammack Village City Hall for pictures with Santa with two of Arkansas’ best photographers, Marvin Winston and Abby Malone. The event benefits Central Arkansas Rescue Effort for Animals (CARE), which aims to rescue and adopt animals and leads spay/neuter efforts. Get a professional 5×7 print with a $20 donation to CARE.
