Thursday, September 1 

What: Hillcrest’s 1st Thursday 

Where: Hillcrest (Little Rock) 

When: 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. 

It’s the last 1st Thursday of the summer with Hillcrest. Community members are invited to hang out in the neighborhood and experience great shopping, delicious beverages and delectable food from local Hillcrest restaurants and shops. 


Thursday, September 1 

What: Dan’s Doggie Dance-Off 

Where: Bark Bar (Little Rock) 

When: 6:00 p.m. 

Pet owners are invited to bring their dogs to participate in the Doggie Dance-Off at Little Rock’s Bark Bar. The dance-off will start at 7:00 p.m., but all entrants need to register by 6:30 p.m. A dollar from every dog entry, food and drink special will go benefit the Children’s Tumor Foundation. What: Thirsty Trivia Thursday 

Where: Press Waffle Co. (SoMa/Little Rock)

When: 6:00 p.m. 

Join Press Waffle Co. for a Happy Hour and Trivia with Challenge Entertainment Trivia this Thursday night. Happy hour specials will be offered, including $2 off beer, $2 off mimosas, Lost Forty Brewing, Core Brewing & Distilling Co. Mix and Match buckets 5 for $20. Press Waffle Co. giftcards of various amounts will be awarded to winners. 


Thursday, September 1 

What: Junction Bridge Lighting 

Where: Junction Bridge (Little Rock) 

When: 8:00 p.m. 

The Little Rock Chapter of APHON (Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses) will kickstart Childhood Cancer and Sickle Cell Awareness Month this Thursday at the Junction Bridge in Downtown Little Rock. The Bridge colors will be lit up with gold and burgundy colors in honor of the month. Thursday, September 1 

What: Saline County GOP Meeting 

Where: Saline County Republican HQ (Benton) 

When: 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. 

The Saline County GOP September meeting will take place this Thursday in Benton. This meeting will consist of prayer, pledge and committee reports with Tommy Land, the Commissioner of State Lands, a featured guest speaker. Senator Kim Hammer will also be in attendance to give an update on the most recent special legislative session. 


Thursday, September 1 

What: Dixie Car Club Meeting 

Where: Wood Grill Buffet (Benton) 

When: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. 

The Dixie Car Club will be meeting this Thursday at the Wood Grill Buffet in Benton. The club meeting will start at 7:00 p.m., but the public is invited to grab some food before the meeting starts.

What: Trixx Live 

Where: Loony Bin Comedy Club (Little Rock) 

When: Various times 

Join the Loony Bin Comedy Club in Little Rock this weekend for guaranteed laughs from comedian Trixx. Trixx has been a finalist in The Great Canadian Laugh-Off, and is known for comedy around the world. For more information, click here


Thursday, September 1 – Saturday, September 3 

What: Mayflower Fall Carnival 

Where: Frank Pearce Memorial Park (Mayflower) 

When: Carnival will kick off at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday night

Hulsey Amusements, The Mayflower Area Chamber of Commerce and the Mayflower Police Department have partnered in bringing the Mayflower Fall Carnival to Frank Pearce Memorial Park. Armbands will be $20 and tickets will be $1. Rides, games, bounce houses, food and more will be available to the public. 


Thursday, September 1 – Sunday, September 4 

What: Painting With a Twist Weekly Paint pARTies 

Where: Painting With a Twist (Little Rock) 

When: Various class times 

Join Painting with a Twist in Little Rock for one of their many paint parties this weekend. Explore your creative side in painting a project, or take a painting kit to-go. All details about the painting parties are available online



Friday, September 2 

What: First Friday Food Trucks 

Where: Main Street (Jacksonville) 

When: Friday: 6:00 p.m., Saturday: 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. 

Head out to Main Street on Friday for an evening or Saturday for a day full of First Friday Food Trucks at Five Points. This recurring event is sponsored by Jacksonville Parks and Recreation and FAB&T each month. One in a miller, Hibachill, Boss Hawg BBQ, Blue Pumpkin, Joyful Baking Co., Chills on Wheels and Cheesecake on Point will be parked on Main Street for guests to enjoy. 


Friday, September 2 

What: SoMa After Dark 

Where: SoMa (Little Rock) 

When: 7:00 p.m. 

After a two year hiatus, SoMa After Dark will be returning this Friday night. There will be so much for people of all ages to enjoy, including Storytime in SoMa at Community Bakery– which is sponsored by Paper Hearts Bookstore, art gallery walk-throughs, restaurant and retail shopping opportunities. Friday, September 2 

What: Back 2 School Party 

Where: Cheba Hut “Toasted” Subs  (Little Rock) 

When: 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. 

Students are invited to head out to Cheba Hut “Toasted Subs” on Friday night for a Free sandwich with a student I.D. The eatery will host a beer pong tournament, a cornhole tournament, live music, local vendors, raffles and more. 


Friday, September 2 

What: Conway Art Walk 

Where: Downtown Conway (Conway) 

When: 5:00 p.m. –  8:00 p.m.  

Conway Art Walk is back for its fall season installation. Each art walk in the community will take place on the first Friday of the month, and the fall season installations will take place from Sept.- Dec., with Simmons Bank sponsoring the Fall Season. Friday, September 2 

What: Gallery Walk 

Where: Historic Downtown Hot Springs 

When: 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. 

All Things Arkansas and the Hot Springs Area Cultural Alliance are partnering to bring the City of Hot Springs the Gallery Walk on the First Friday of every month. Last month marked the Gallery Walk’s 33rd anniversary, and this month, the fun will continue. Esther’s Gallery and Gifts, The Warehouse, a Pop-Up Gallery, Justus Fine Art Gallery, Legacy Gallery, Rebecca Peterman Photography, American Art Gallery and Gifts, All Things Arkansas, Artists’ Workshop Gallery, Wrapped Gift Boutique, Gallery Central, Whittington Gallery, Dryden Pottery and Circle Gallery will be featured in this month’s Gallery Walk.

What: South Main Creative 7th Birthday Party 

Where:  South Main Creative (SoMa/Little Rock) 

When: 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Saturday, September 3 

What: Central Arkansas Rocketry September Launch 

Where:  Two Rivers Park (Little Rock) 

When: 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. 

This Saturday is  Central Arkansas Rocketry’s monthly model rocket launch at Two Rivers Park. The group invites the public to bring their family and friends out to enjoy the model rocket launch. This event is free and open to the public. 


Saturday, September 3 

What: Paper Hearts Bookstore Pop Up

Where:  Press Waffle Co. (SoMa/Little Rock) 

When: 3:00 p.m. 

Paper Hearts Bookstore will be hosting a pop-up event at Press Waffle Co. this Saturday. Grab some waffles and buy books from the independently-owned bookstore this weekend. This event will follow the nostalgic feeling of Scholastic Book Fairs. 


Saturday, September 3 

What: Goat Yoga 

Where:  St. Joseph Center of Arkansas ( Little Rock) 

When: 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. 

Join Lady Moon Yoga Collective this Saturday at St. Joseph Center of Arkansas for a yoga flow with goats. This class is perfect for adults and children 12-years-old and older. The class is beginner friendly and tickets can be bought online


Saturday, September 3 

What: Razorback Tail-gate Pawty 

Where:  Bark Bar (Little Rock) 

When: 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. 

This Saturday marks the first Razorback football  game of the season, and Bark Bar is celebrating this with a tailgating event at the dog park and restaurant. This event is for adults 21-years-old and older and dogs who are at least four-months-old. Dogs dressed in Razorback gear will get in free. Saturday, September 3 

What: Grand Opening of Summer Moon Coffee 

Where:  Summer Moon Coffee (Fayetteville)

When: 7:00 a.m – 12:00 p.m. 

Summer Moon Coffee has been a long awaited drink destination for Northwest Arkansas, and this Saturday, the Austin, Tx-Based coffee shop will be opening its doors for the Fayetteville location. Grand opening promotions, exclusive discounts, swag bags and a raffle will be available at the store’s grand opening celebration. 


Saturday, September 3 

What: Koala Cake Class  

Where: Rick’s Bakery (Fayetteville) 

When: 1:00 p.m. & 3:00 p.m.

What: Great Southern Stone Skipping Championships 

Where: Lake #1 Lakewood (Little Rock) 

When: 10:00 a.m. 

Head on out to the Great Southern Stone Skipping Championships this Saturday at 10 a.m. The stone-skipping contest will take place with the goal of all proceeds going toward benefiting the Arkansas Foodbank. Learn more about this event in this earlier article. 


Sunday, September 4 

What: Hot Spring County Fair 

Where: Hot Spring County Fairgrounds (Hot Spring County) 

When: 12:00 p.m. 

Head out to the Hot Spring County Fairgrounds this Sunday for the first day of the county fair. The fair will run through Sept. 11 and will feature family-friendly events, shows, food and rides. For more information, click here


Sunday, September 4 

What: Tour de Salvation 

Where: Hot Springs Historic Downtown Farmers Market 

When: 7:00 a.m. 

Cyclers and their families are invited to join Hot Springs for the Tour de Salvation, which is a multi-bike ride in Hot Springs. This ride will benefit the Salvation Army’s Pathway of Hope, and bring awareness to the organization while helping families in crisis in the Hot Springs community. Sunday, September 4 

What: Industry Dawgs

Where: Bark Bar (Little Rock) 

When: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. 

Industry dogs and their parents who work in the bar or restaurant industry are invited to join the Bark Bar every Sunday night from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This event will feature $7 Busch & Branca, a free shift drink for your pup and $5 Mini Moonshine Slushes. What: Northwest Arkansas Barber & Beauty Expo 

Where: Fayetteville Town Center (Fayetteville)

When: 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.  

The Northwest Arkansas Barber and Beauty Expo will be returning this Sunday to Fayetteville. This year, barber and beauty classes will be hosted at the expo from some of the industry’s top educators in addition to Barber Battles and Beauty Battles. To buy tickets, click here


Sunday, September 4 

What: Labor Day Fireworks 

Where: Lake Hamilton (Hot Springs)  

When: 8:45 p.m. – 9:45 p.m. 

Visit Hot Springs will be hosting its Labor Day Fireworks Display this Sunday, starting at 8:45 p.m. The firework show will be synched with the 97.5 FM US97 radio station with country music. This is the last fireworks show to be hosted by Visit Hot Springs this year. 


Tuesday, September 6

What: Little Rock Touchdown Club Guest Speaker Series featuring Ed Orgeron 

Where: DoubleTree Hotel (downtown Little Rock)

When: 11:00 a.m.

The Little Rock Touchdown Club’s annual guest speaker series, presented by Simmons Bank, takes place every week, and this Tuesday Coach Ed Orgeron will be speaking. Lunch will be served at 11:00 a.m. and the program will start at 11:40 a.m. Tickets are $25 for members and $35 for non-members.
