What: Fundraiser for Imagination Library 

Where: Gotahold Brewing (Eureka Springs) 

When: 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. 

Join Imagination Library Carroll County at Gotahold Brewing in Eureka Springs this Thursday evening for a night of karaoke, contests, prizes and a dinner from Twisted Taco. In addition to all of the fun, entertainment will be provided by Opal Agafia and DeAnna Green, a book swap will take place and a Dolly Parton Trivia Contest will be held. Proceeds from this event will go toward benefitting the Imagination Library of Carroll County.

What: “Smokey and the Bandit” (1977,PG) Screening 

Where: CALS Ron Robinson Theater (Little Rock) 

When: 7 p.m. 

Get in and transport yourself back to the golden age of fast cars, stunts and endless fun this Thursday evening at CALS Ron Robinson Theater. Brace yourself, this ride is definitely not completely smooth. The screening will begin at 7 p.m. and tickets can be purchased online.

What: So Salty Comedy Night: A Night of Laughter for a Cause 

Where: Loony Bin Comedy Club of Little Rock 

When: 7 p.m. 

What’s better than laughing? Laughing for a cause. This Thursday evening, “So Salty,” a stand-up comedy show will be hosted at Loony Bin Comedy Club of Little Rock, and proceeds will go toward benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Non-stop hilarity is promised with headliner Cody Woods, and donations can be made online, or in-person.

What: Teen Night at the Little Rock Zoo 

Where: Little Rock Zoo 

When: 5 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. 

Friends, food, music, games and prizes will be available for all teens (13-18) to enjoy this Thursday evening during the Little Rock Zoo’s Teen Night. This special, after hours event is free to attend, however registration is required due to limited space. Click here to learn more.

What: July Third Thursday: BBQ Street Food 

Where: Mount Sequoyah Center (Fayetteville) 

When: 6 p.m. 

Head on out to the Mount Sequoyah Center in Fayetteville this Thursday to enjoy delicious street food right on the mountain. Prepared by Chef James Tyler, this third Thursday menu consists of smoked pork belly with pickled zucchini, smoked garlic butter shrimp, Belizean style chicken with aji verde, grilled seasonal vegetables, smoked pork shoulder tacos with roasted corn and red pepper pico de gallo and tres leches cake.

What: Disney’s “Newsies” Opening Weekend 

Where: South Arkansas Arts Center (El Dorado) 

When: Various showtimes

What: Northwest Arkansas Naturals V. Tulsa Drillers 

Where: Arvest Ballpark (Springdale) 

When: Thursday & Friday: 7:05 p.m., Saturday: 6:05 p.m., Sunday: 2:05 p.m. 

It’s another home-game weekend for the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, and this time, the team will be facing the Tulsa Drillers. The themes of this weekend’s game are as follows: Thirsty Thursday, Fireworks Friday, Vinnie Pasquantino Bobblehead Giveaway and Family Sunday. 

 

Friday, July 21 

What: “My Dog Skip” (2000, PG) 

Where: CALS Ron Robinson Theater (Little Rock) 

When: 7 p.m. 

CALS Ron Robinson Theater will be taking guests back to the year 2000 this Friday evening with a special screening of “My Dog Skip.” This movie features the story of Willie Morris, and his friendship with a Jack Russell Terrier named Skip. Join the dynamic duo as they navigate through life together. Concessions, beer and wine will be available for purchase at the venue and tickets can be purchased online. 

 

Friday, July 21 

What: A Night with Moses Moody 

Where: Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts (Little Rock) 

When: 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. 

Former Razorback and current Golden State Warrior, Moses Moody, will be visiting his hometown this weekend for special community events brought to the area by his foundation: Motivate One Foundation. This Friday evening he will be joined by Coach Eric Musselman for a fireside chat moderated by Bo Mattingly. This event is free to the public, but registration is required due to limited space.  

 

Friday, July 21 

What: Fishing 101 

Where: Lake Frierson State Park (Jonesboro) 

When: 9 a.m. 

Learn to fish this Friday at Lake Frierson State Park. This course will be lead by a park interpreter who will teach attendees the basics of fishing, how to get started and how to join in on the fishing fun on the lake. Click here for more information.

What: 3rd Friday Art Walk 

Where: Argenta Arts District (North Little Rock) 

When: 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. 

For July’s 3rd Friday Art Walk, the Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub will be hosting an event based on the creativity of local artists, free drinks, networking and experience. This event is free and open to the public and will include artists from several different backgrounds and multiple disciplines.

What: Ribfest @ The Brewery 

Where: Fort Smith Brewing Company 

When: 12 p.m.

What: The Rock City Margarita Festival & The Great Arkansas Beer Festival 

Where: Statehouse Convention Center (Little Rock) 

When: 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. 

Adults (21+) are invited to The Rock City Margarita Festival and The Great Arkansas Beer Festival at the Statehouse Convention Center. This event is sponsored by Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort and 103.7 The Buzz. Guests are allowed to sample as many margaritas, beers, wines and seltzers as they would like and food will be available for purchase. Erlandson is known as a master illusionist, and with about two decades of experience, he has created a unique and daring show for all to enjoy. What: 2nd Annual SHINE-ola Benefit for Methodist Family Health 

Where: White Water Tavern (Little Rock) 

When: 6 p.m. 

Methodist Family Health will be hosting its 2nd Annual SHINE-ola benefit this Saturday evening at White Water Tavern. Guests are invited to celebrate nonprofits with this unique fundraiser this July, and cool off from the deep summer heat. Tickets start at $10 and proceeds will go toward purchasing Christmas gifts for about 250 Arkansas kids expected to be under the care of Methodist Family Health on Christmas Day.

What:  OneLuvFashion Show 

Where: The Venue at Westwind  (North Little Rock)

Head out to The Venue at Westwind this Saturday evening for a special fashion show presented by OneLuveFashion. The goal of this show is to bring people together on the basis of uplifting the underrepresented communities in the fashion industry with designs featured by local creatives, worn by local models. What: 3rd Annual Northwest Arkansas Mess Fest

This event is back for its third year, and is completely free for kids and their families. Guests are invited to come get messy with slime, foam and more fun at Lokomotion in Fayetteville. What: Dinner Detective Interactive Murder Mystery Dinner Show 

Where: Holiday Inn Little Rock Downtown 

When: 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. 

You don’t have to be great at solving puzzles to have a great time at a Dinner Detective Interactive Murder Mystery Dinner Show. This Saturday, guests to this fun dinner party will be tackling a hilarious, yet challenging, crime as they eat a great dinner. This is a dinner theater performance like no other. What: Christmas in July 2023 

Where: Little Rock Zoo 

When: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. 

Three words: Christmas in July. This weekend, the Little Rock Zoo will be hosting a special event featuring none other than Santa, as he stops by for his Summer Vacation. Santa will be available for a meet and greet in Café Africa on both days, collecting gifts for the animals and taking special note of Christmas wishes. What: Arkansas Gun Show Hot Springs 

Where: Hot Springs Convention Center 

When: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. 

Hosted by South Hot Springs Lions Club, the Arkansas Gun and Knife Show will take place this weekend at the Hot Springs Convention Center. This event will include over 125 exhibitors and will feature only the best of guns and knives. Click here to learn more about this event. 

 

Sunday, July 23

What: AR Rocks, Minerals and Fossils 

Where: Botanical Garden of the Ozarks (Fayetteville) 

When: 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. 

This weekend is going to ROCK at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks. Head on out to this beautiful oasis to learn about minerals, fossils and Arkansas rocks, presented by Gem Adventures Rock Shop. Guests will also learn about mining for local rocks, and Molly Jones will teach the essentials of becoming an expert rock enthusiast. Tickets are priced at $20 for members and $30 for non-members. 

 

Sunday, July 23

What: Bobby Portis Foundation Community Event & Backpack Giveaway 

Where: Main Event Little Rock, 2616 S. Shackleford Road

When: 12 p.m. – 3 p.m. 

Former Arkansas Razorback and current Milwaukee Buck, Bobby Portis, won’t be hosting his typical foundation weekend this year due to his commitment to Team USA Basketball this summer, however, his foundation will host a special community event and backpack drive this Sunday. Food, bowling, laser tag, an arcade and much more will be offered to guests at Main Event. Click here to learn more.

  • Bar & Bites at Eleven will take place on Thursday and Friday nights from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. weekly at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Arts. 
  • Bulls, Broncs, Beauties and Boots” Exhibit will be on display at Fort Smith Museum of History through July 29. 
  • “Newsies” will be showing at South Arkansas Arts Center in El Dorado through July 30th. 
  • The Hot Springs Fishing Challenge will be taking place through July 31. 
  • Diego Rivera’s “America” is currently on display at Crystal Bridges Museum of Fine Art in the Temporary Exhibition Gallery. Rivera’s work will be on display through July 31. 
  • What a Time To Be Showcases beautiful, and very pink, artwork by Yvette Mayorga, and is currently on display at The Momentary, where it will remain on display until Oct. 15.
