Support locally owned businesses, create a patriotic collage with Lost Ozark Dawn at Baked by Kori, create pet-inspired art at Woof & Wander with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Journey, enjoy live music, view art by Women of the Ozarks artists and more. What: Southern Tail Brewing Job Fair 

Where: Southern Tail Brewing (Little Rock) 

When: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. 

East Village’s newest brewery, Southern Tail Brewing, is close to opening, and this Thursday, it will be hosting a job fair to recruit employees. The owners are looking for passionate and energetic individuals to grow with the brewery in a fun, dynamic environment. A translator will be on-site for Spanish-speaking individuals.

What: Ribbon-Cutting for Wolfe Street Foundation Youth Empowerment Project 

Where:11715 Rainwood Rd. (Little Rock) 

When: 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. 

Wolfe Street Foundation will open the doors of its Youth Empowerment Project Teen Center, YEP, this Thursday afternoon. As the first community-based youth recovery program in the state, this venture will bring care to the urgent need for youth addiction support in the state.

What: CALS Used Book Sale 

Where: Port Industrial Hub (Little Rock) 

When: Thursday: 3 p.m. – 5 p.m.; Friday – Saturday: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. 

The CALS Summer Used Book Sale will take place this weekend at 7773 Sloan Dr. Used book prices are set at $1 for paperbacks and $2 for hardbacks. Educators with a valid ID will receive an extra 25% off these prices. Shop the used books, and all revenue generated from this will go toward the CALS Foundation, which will support the Six Bridges Book Festival, Summer @ CALS, book club kits, grants to all CALS library branches and other library programs.

What: Opera in the Ozarks  

Where: Mount Sequoyah Center (Fayetteville) 

When: Several showtimes

Opera in The Ozarks will be hosting “Broadway Cabaret” this Thursday evening, starting at 7 p.m. As part of the summer opera series, this event is one of four that will take place this weekend at the Mount Sequoyah Center. Friday night’s performance will be showing “The Crucible,” Saturday night will be “La Traviata,” and Sunday will be “Beauty and the Beast.”

What: Opening Weekend for “Footloose” 

Where: The Rep (Little Rock) 

When: Several showtimes 

Tap your toes, and get ready for your spirits to soar as “Footloose,” the explosive movie-musical, makes its way to the live stage at Little Rock’s The Rep. Rated PG-13, this musical will feature new, dynamic songs and will be coupled with the bestselling Oscar-nominated score. This production will be shown through July 28. 


Friday, July 12

What: Glowdiac Presents “Mario Party” 

Where: The Rev Room (Little Rock) 

When: 8:30 p.m. 

Enjoy The Rev Room’s monthly glow party, presented by Glowdiac, this Friday evening. This month’s theme is “Mario Party,” and this event is open to adults, 21-and-up. Doors open at 8 p.m., and tickets are $15. Costumes are strongly encouraged.

What: Jack Willis Presents “All Jacked Up” 

Where: The Joint Comedy Club (Argenta/North Little Rock) 

When: 8 p.m. 

Comic Jack Willis will be bringing his “All Jacked Up” stand-up routine to The Joint this Friday evening. Willis, who boasts a 40-year career as a wannabee to the Texas outlaw comics, is known as the roommate to legendary Bill hicks. Ben Pusch will be featured in this show, and an original song and newly released video will be displayed with Willis, Hicks and Sam Kinison. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

What: Family Fun Fridays: Luau 

Where: Magic Springs Theme and Water Park (Hot Springs) 

When: 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. 

Parents, grab your kids and head on out to Magic Springs this Friday evening for a fun-filled evening. This week’s family-fun Friday will feature the theme of “Luau.” The wave pool will be staying open for two extra hours, complete with live music, hula dancers and luau swag.

What: Arkansas Only-Farmers Night Market 

Where: St. Joseph Center of Arkansas (North Little Rock) 

When: 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. 

Celebrate and meet local farmers in North Little Rock this Friday at the first annual Arkansas Only-Farmers Night Market. This event will allow shoppers to buy directly from farmers and meet the faces behind many of the items sold in the store. Vendors will be open from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and the Beer Shed will be open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with live music and local food.

What: Tastemakers: Dinner with Eric See of Ursula

Where: The Momentary – Røde House (Bentonville)

As central Arkansas’ largest and original vintage market event, Bella Rustina Modern Vintage Market will include exhibitors from eight states and over 350 booths filled with authentic vintage, one-of-a-kind handmade, trendy boutique clothing and accessories and vintage-inspired decor.

Step back in time this weekend in Little Rock at the Arkansas Retro Expo, the state’s first convention for retro gamers. Gamers, collectors and nostalgia enthusiasts are sure to enjoy this blast from the past, with the world of classic consoles, iconic video game memorabilia, boots filled with toys and accessories and more. Tickets are $5 at the door, and kids 12 and under get in for free.

Where: Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art (Bentonville)

Join Crystal Bridges this Saturday for ArtCart, a family program that will take a deeper look at the current exhibition, “Exquisite Creatures.” This event will be engaging with a hands-on ArtCart activity, and guests will get to learn from Austin Jones, a local nature expert and entomologist. This event is free, and no registration is required.

Beat the heat this Saturday at The Jones Center. As part of the center’s Summer in The City Series, Splash Bash is a free outdoor water-fun and free community block party. Concessions will be available, and this event will include inflatable water slides, water balloons, games, activities, a capture the flag competition, a giant slip-n-slide, music and dancing. A Toddler Zone will be available for parents with small children, and guests can sign up onsite at the event. Guests participating should check in at the desk for a wristband; lawn chairs are recommended.

What: “You Look Like” Roast Battle

The Joint will be hosting yet another “You Look Like” Roast Battle this Saturday night, featuring a battle between Memphis and Little Rock. Step into the ring of laughter as stand-up comics go toe-to-toe with fiery insults and quick-witted rebuttals. Tickets are $20, and this show is open to adults ages 21 and up.

What: Date Night Among Wildflowers

Date Night Among Wildflowers, a special event by Sacred Hollow Farm, will take place this Saturday evening. Head on out to Lowell with your significant other to fill a flower jar with colorful wildflowers as you both walk through a field at sunset. Two complimentary adult beverages will be offered in a peaceful, relaxing environment. Tickets for couples and one jar of wildflowers are $42, and guests can purchase a second jar for an additional $20. The farm recommends guests bring appropriate walking shoes and insect repellent.

Don’t miss out on the Mid-America Science Museum’s most electrifying event of the year. This Saturday, wear your favorite scientist or inventor costume and join the museum for Tesla Fest. This year, the event will celebrate Nikola Tesla’s 168th birthday with a day full of family fun and learning. The cost of Tesla Fest is included with general admission and is free for members. The 168th guest will win a special Tesla t-shirt or onesie, and guests can participate in a Tesla scavenger hunt.

What: Worldwide Rollout Day 2024 

Where: Starlight Skatium (Fayetteville) 

When: 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. 

All wheels are welcome this Saturday at Starlight Skatium in Fayetteville. This free event is open to all ages and marks the 5th Annual Worldwide Rollout Day, and the third year for the event to be hosted in Arkansas. Skate around the Lake Fayetteville Loop Trail, and don’t forget to bring your own set of wheels, safety gear and plenty of water.

What: Sunday Reset| Sensory Meditation 

Where: The Momentary (Bentonville) 

When: 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. 

Start your week off right this Sunday at The Momentary. Cocoon Yoga Lab will be setting up shop next to Buckyball for an outdoor yoga flow practice. Under the teacher’s guidance, attendees will move through a gentle, slow yoga flow, fostering a nurturing and relaxing practice. This class is open to all levels, and live meditative music will be played during the session, using a variety of instruments for peak relaxation.
