Footloose The Musical will be shown several dates at Community School of the Arts. This Thursday evening will be the last time the show will be performed this December, so be sure to enjoy it before the winter break takes place.

CALS Ron Robinson Theater will be playing the Christmas classic, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, this Friday evening. Tickets for this movie are $7 and can be bought online.

What: Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch 

Where: Rialto Community Arts Center (Morrilton) 

When: 6 p.m. 

The Rialto Theatre will be showing Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch this Friday night for free. The public is invited to enjoy the cartoon classic and concessions will be available for purchase.

What: Third Friday Art Walk 

Where: Argenta 

When: 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. 

Enjoy a fun night of shopping, viewing local art, conversing with local makers, gift-wrapping, hot chocolate and holiday music. This event is free, and can be enjoyed at various locations around Argenta, including the Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub

What: Skate with Santa 

Where: Starlight Skatium (Fayetteville) 

When: 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. 

Fayetteville: Skate with Santa this Saturday at Starlight. Guests are invited to take a few laps with Santa and his elves this weekend for only $7. Tickets are available online. 

 

Saturday, December 17

What: Nexus Holiday Concert 

Where: Nexus Coffee & Creative (Little Rock) 

When: 7 p.m.

It’s time for Nexus’ annual Holiday Concert in downtown Little Rock. Christmas drinks and treats will be available for purchase and local musicians will be performing classic Christmas tunes. The cover charge for this event is $10.

What: Santa Paws 

Where: Hollywood Feed (North Little Rock)

When: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. 

For $15, you can bring your dogs, cats and other pets to Hollywood Feed for pictures with Santa. Photos will be available for download digitally.

Midtown Mall will be hosting a tasting party this Saturday. Open to the public, patrons can enjoy samples of the best Holiday eats and treats as well as finish last-minute Christmas shopping.

What: Santa Drop 

Where: Arkansas Air & Military Museum (Fayetteville)

When: 11 a.m.

Skydiving Saint Nick will be dropping from the sky this Saturday, as a rescheduled event from last weekend. Enjoy a magical 90 seconds as you and your children are invited to watch Santa soar

What: Breakfast with Santa 2022 

Where: Little Rock Zoo 

When: 8 a.m. 

Enjoy a breakfast with Santa this Saturday morning at The Little Rock Zoo. Children are invited to sit on Santa’s lap and voice their wish lists, and also eat a festive breakfast. The holiday breakfast buffet will include breakfast casserole, cinnamon rolls, biscuits and gravy, Ghirardelli’s hot chocolate and more. Tickets start at $40 for non-members and can be bought online

 

Saturday, December 17 

What: Eureka Springs Jinglin Jeep Parade 

Where: Pine Mountain (Eureka Springs)  

When: 6 p.m. 

The biggest parade in Eureka Springs will take place this Saturday. Jeeps are encouraged to be decorated for the Holidays, canned goods and unwrapped toys will be collected at this event. For more information, click here

What: Pops-up the Shops-up 

Where: Bang-Up Betty (Argenta/North Little Rock) 

When: 12 a.m. – 4 p.m. 

Bang-Up Betty will be hosting a pop up shop this Sunday. Stocking stuffers and gifts abound will be offered to visiting guests. 

 

Sunday, December 18

What: Forever Thrifted: Holiday Market @ The Hall 

Where: The Hall (Little Rock) 

When: 11 a.m.- 4 p.m.

Forever Thrifted will end its market series for the 2022 year this Sunday at The Hall. In its largest thrift swap yet, a variety of vendors will be present for guests to finish up their Christmas shopping.

What: Cast Party Cabaret 

Where: The Studio Theatre (Little Rock) 

When: 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.

The Studio Theatre is inviting the public to join them at The Lobby Bar this Sunday evening for a night of songs from the American Musical Theatre Songbook. Local singers will perform music directed by Bob Bidewell. Tickets for this limited-event are $5 and can be purchased online

 

RECURRING EVENTS: 

  • GloWILD at the Little Rock Zoo: Join the zoo at night to see a whole new type of light display. This year’s exhibit features over 50,000 LED lights and is laid out differently than last year’s exhibit. Read this earlier article to learn more. Santa will be present for pictures every Sunday throughout December.
  • Listening Forest by Rafael Lozano-Hemmer at  Crystal Bridges’ North Forest at Various times: The Listening Forest outdoor immersive exhibit is still open at Crystal Bridges.   •  Holiday Lights at Garvan Woodland Gardens: From 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. every night through Dec. 31. ( excluding Thanksgiving and Christmas).: Hop on a golf cart tour, eat and drink at The Chipmunk Cafe and enjoy a night at the lights. 
  • MAD on Ice at Murphy Arts District: Skate your way through the days leading up to Christmas in El Dorado. In an old-timey outdoor ice rink, anyone can enjoy ice skating during the holidays. 
  • Sherwood’s Enchanted Forest Trail of Lights will take place from now through Dec. 30, nightly from 6-9:30 p.m. The drive-thru trail starts at the entrance o f the Sherwood Sports Complex. 
  • Holiday Lights at Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs will be available to look at from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. nightly, excluding Thanksgiving and Christmas. The last night it will be open this season is Dec. 31. 
  • A Fertile Holiday at The Joint Comedy Theater in North Little Rock will take place over several dates between Friday, Nov. 25 and Friday, Dec. 30. 
  • Stewart Family Christmas Lights Display is open now through Jan. 3. in Fayetteville. Over 5 million lights are featured, train rides, pony rides, and more is offered to guests on weekdays from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. and weekends 5 p.m. – 11 p.m. 
  • “In the Next Room” will be shown from Dec. 2 – Dec. 18 several times on Friday’s and Saturday’s at The Weekend Theater in Little Rock.
  • “Stones in His Pockets” will be shown online and in person at TheatreSquared in Fayetteville from now through Dec. 18. For more information or to buy tickets, click here
  • “Guys and Dolls” will be showing at Arkansas Repertory Theatre in Little Rock through Dec. 31.
  • Winter Nights will take place at Bradberry Amphitheater & Rose Garden as well as Joy Pratt Markham Gallery at the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville. The gallery will be open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. – 11 p.m. from Dec. 1- Dec. 23.
  • “A Christmas Carol” will be shown from Dec. 1 – 24 at TheatreSquared in Fayetteville.
