Watercolor in the Park, a new restaurant concept by JTJ Restaurants LLC, will open its doors for business on Nov. 28 at the Arkansas Arts Center. Open Tuesday-Saturday, the restaurant will offer a gourmet coffee and quiche menu from 10-11 a.m., and its full menu from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The restaurant will also serve brunch, courtesy of Petit and Keet, on Sundays from 11 a.m.-2 p.m, beginning on Dec. 9.
The new eatery will serve casual new American cuisine under the direction of the restaurant’s executive chef, Howard Wilson. The new menu will feature house made soups, pasta, shrimp, salmon and handhelds.
“We’re excited to partner with the Arkansas Arts Center to provide a brand new culinary experience in MacArthur Park,” said Jim Keet, chairman of JTJ Restaurants LLC. “Watercolor in the Park will feature a chef-driven lunch menu, reasonable prices and great service. We have worked with the fantastic and professional staff at the Arkansas Arts Center to create a new atmosphere, menu and artistic experience for the city. We will continue to coordinate with the staff on menus for kids and adults at special events in the near future.”
Managed by Tyler Lenners, assistant general manager for Petit and Keet and director of catering for both Petit and Keet and Watercolor in the Park, the restaurant will also be the exclusive caterer for the Arkansas Arts Center and Terry House events.
“The quality and service of the Keet brand is well known in the central Arkansas community, and we are honored to have a restaurant family of this caliber take on the restaurant at the Arts Center,” said Laine Harber, interim director at the Arkansas Arts Center. “Our patrons will delight in the new menu offerings of Watercolor in the Park, and I encourage visitors to come out and support this new endeavor, enjoy a wonderful lunch, visit our gallery spaces and make a visit to the Arts Center an experience to remember.”
New décor will feature watercolor collections courtesy of the Mid-Southern Watercolorists.
