What: Dancing with our Stars 

Where: Robinson Center Ballroom (Little Rock)

When: 6:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. 

Dancing with our Stars Little Rock Gala, the largest fundraising event of the year in Arkansas, will take place on Thursday night. This event benefits the Children’s Tumor Foundation in order to advance its mission of researching, improving knowledge and advancing care for the neurofibramatosis (NF) community. What: Bingo for Bags 

Where: Chenal Country Club (Little Rock) 

When: 5:00 p.m.

Attendees are invited to experience food, bar, a silent auction and bingo on Thursday night at the Chenal Country Club. Ten games of Bingo will be played, and winners will be gifted a purse, bag or accessory valued at $200 or more to take home. What: Jazz It Up 

Where: Reynolds Performance Hall (Conway) 

When: 6:30 p.m. 

The Conway Symphony will be performing at the Reynolds Performance Hall, which is located on the University of Central Arkansas campus. When: 6:00 p.m. 

Join Press Waffle Co. for a Happy Hour and Trivia with Challenge Entertainment Trivia this Thursday night. What: Lunch & Learn Tour 

Where: Moss Mountain Farm (Little Rock) 

When: 8:00 p.m.

P. Allen Smith is hosting a farm tour and lunch at his three-story Greek-Revival style home, and the public is invited to learn about the authentic design approach of the farm. Guests will be able to explore the countryside that overlooks the Arkansas River while touring the Allen Terrace Garden, the Hidden Rose Garden, Hydrangea Allée and his one-acre Vegetable Garden. The first-ever podcast convention, ARKAST, will take place this Thursday and will feature the most successful podcasters in Arkansas, including Hilary Downey, Chad Jones, Aysleth Zaledon, Sarah Heer, Cliff and Susan Prowse, Phillip Fletcher, Leo Cummings III, Jamie Taylor, Irvin Camacho, Bo Counts and Jessica Tolliver. Join Petit & Keet this Thursday for L80’s Night, Weekend at Bernie’s edition. Keet’s Corner Bar will be transformed into a Weekend at Bernie’s-themed bar. This event will feature an all-night happy hour, speciality cocktails such as the Bernie Bro, Freakin’ Weekend and Take a Load Off, Have a Drink. As always, this event will feature throwback jams throughout the evening.

What: Firefighter Challenge 30th Anniversary National Tour

Where: Dickey-Stephens Park (North Little Rock)

When: Kicks off Thursday at 9:00 a.m. 

Firefighters around the country will all be in North Little Rock this weekend to compete in the Firefighter Challenge – a globally-recognized competition. This event is family-friendly and hosted by the City of North Little Rock Fire Department, in collaboration with the North Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau. Last Sunday, The Hot Spring County Fair kicked off, and has been open this entire week. Join the Hot Spring County community this weekend until Sunday at midnight for rides, food and so much more.

What: Little Rock National Cemetery Day of Service 

Where:  Little Rock National Cemetery 

When: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. 

Carry the Load, a proud partner with the National Cemetery Administration, is observing Patriot Day this Saturday with a Day of Service at the Little Rock National Cemetery. What: Hurts Donut 5K Glo-nut Run 

Where: Burns Park Soccer Complex (North Little Rock)

When: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. 

Runners and donut-lovers are invited to Hurts Donut’s very first 5k Glo Run. The event features a running series that is open to all ages and running abilities. Attendees are encouraged to wear all their glow accessories for the event, and will receive a t-shirt, finisher medal and best of all – a Hurts Donut. What: Interactive Screening! The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975, rated R)

Where: CALS Ron Robinson Theater (Little Rock) 

When: 9:30 p.m.  

Rocky Horror Picture Show enthusiasts should head out to CALS Ron Robinson Theater this Friday night for an interactive screening of the highly-acclaimed The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Doors will open at 8:30 p.m. and the show will start at 9:30 p.m. Concessions and beer and wine will be available for purchase. It’s the second Friday of the month, and for the City of Little Rock, this means it is time for another 2nd Friday Art Night. Participating locations include the Historic Arkansas Museum, Old State House Museum, The Galleries and Bookstore at Library Square, Bella Vita Jewelry, Sergio Valdivia Art and Hearne Fine Art.

What: Little Rock Diamond Foundation’s 2nd Annual Charity Golf Classic 

Where:  The Country Club of Arkansas Golf Club (Little Rock) 

When: 8:00 a.m.

What: SHREK-Tember! Shrek screening (2001, rated PG)

Where:  CALS Ron Robinson Theater (Little Rock) 

When: 7:00 p.m. 

Movie-goers and those reminiscing on simpler times are invited to join the CALS Ron Robinson Theater on Friday for a viewing of Shrek. Doors to this screening will be opening at 6:00 p.m. and the film will begin screening at 7:00 p.m. Admission to this show will be $7 and beer, wine and concessions will be available for purchase. What: Argenta Dogtown Throwdown

Dogtown Throwdown, a recurring event that takes place from April to October on the second weekend of every month, is back again for its September event. This weekend will include happy hour, live music, entertainment food and much more.

What: Hot Air Balloon State Championship 

Where: Anstaff Soccer Complex  (Harrison) 

When: Starts Friday at 4:00 p.m. 

The 27th annual Arkansas Hot Air Balloon State Championship will take place this weekend in Harrison. While some events are weather-dependent, the current schedule includes helicopter rides, a kids zone, key-grab competition, balloon flights and more. What: Vintage Market Days of Little Rock 

Where: Arkansas State Fairgrounds (Little Rock)

When: Friday – Sunday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Make your way out to the Arkansas State Fairgrounds for the Vintage Market Days of Little Rock this weekend.  This event is family friendly and features 100 premiere vendors from over 15 states with unique vintage and fashion finds, handmade goods and the staple fashion pieces from featured boutiques. As part of the Welcoming Week NWA festivities, The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks will be hosting its annual Ozarks International Festival. There will be several booths, international foods and more in order to celebrate the difference and inclusion of all cultures. What: 9/11 Heroes 5K Run/Go Ruck Shadow Event 

Where:  Lake Willastein Park  (Maumelle) 

When: 8:00 a.m. 

Head out to Lake Willastein Park this Saturday morning for the Travis Manion Foundation 9/11  Heroes Run. This annual event is open to all runners, ruckers and walkers at all activity levels and ages. To register for the 5K, click here.

What: Ozark Quilt Fair 

Where:  Shiloh Museum of Ozark History (Springdale) 

When: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. 

The 44th Annual Ozark Quilt Fair will take place this Saturday at Shiloh Museum of Ozark History. Returning in-person for the first time in two years, festivities will include live music by Buddy Shute & The Motivators, hotdogs from Downtown Dawgs, old-time toys for children to play with and NWA’s most beautiful quilts.

What: JointStock 2022

Where:  The Joint Comedy Club  (Argenta/ North Little Rock) 

When: 5:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. 

The Joint Comedy Club  will be hosting its seventh annual music and comedy festival: JointStock.  The Event will include live music from Gordy Brave, The Skylarks, Queen Anne’s Revenge, Jason Lee Hale & The Personal Space Invaders, Fonky Donky, Birds with Teeth and The Big Dam Horns. Improvised comedy will feature Zane Lovelady, Bair, Zach Slomers and Alexi. This event is “pay-what-you-want,” and all proceeds from this event will benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

What: Breakfast with a Twist – Penguins 

Where:  The Little Rock Zoo

Join the Little Rock Zoo for its monthly Breakfast with a Twist series this Saturday morning. This is a monthly event that celebrates one of the zoo’s most iconic animals, and is in collaboration with Little Rock’s Painting with a Twist. The SouthArk Outdoor Expo returns to El Dorado this Saturday for its 23rd year. What: Chat & Chew: A Walk Down Historic West Ninth Street 

Where:  Mosaic Templars Cultural Center (Little Rock)

Mosaic Templars Cultural Center will be hosting its Chat & Chew tour this Saturday, with a walk on ninth street in Little Rock. Historial and community liaison Brian Rodgers will be starting the event with an information session, and guests will be able to learn about the lives of those who once lived in the largely African-American community in Little Rock. What: Cockrills Critters Grand Opening

Where:  Cockrills Country Critters Mobile Petting Zoo & Pony Rides ( Austin) 

When: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. 

Cockrill’s Country Critters is celebrating its re-grand opening, after the facility was destroyed due to a fire in Feb. 2022. This event will feature vendors, music, food trucks, door prizes and all of the new animals at the farm. Admission to this event is free, but pony rides, camel rides, hayrides, face painting, feed cups, photos, kangaroo holding and other event offerings are available upon purchase.

Parents, bring your kids out to the Little Rock Children’s Business Fair this Saturday at Williams Library. This event will feature young minds at work in marketing, selling, learning to count money and feeling accomplished. This is the business fair’s second-ever year to hold this event.

What: 23rd Annual Wheelin’ & Healin’ Car and Truck Show 

Where: Goodsell Truck Accessories  (Jacksonville)

Make your way out to Goodsell Truck Accessories in Jacksonville for the 23rd annual Wheelin’ & Healin’ Car and Truck Show. There will be show cars, trucks, antiques, classics and new cars on display from local dealers. This event will benefit Jacksonville Friends of the Animals.

What: 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb 

Where: Jack Stephens Center(Little Rock) 

When: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. 

The fourth Annual Little Rock 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb will take place this Saturday. The event will take place in remembrance of the stairs climbed by Firefighters, Police and EMS. Attendees will climb 110 flights of stairs in order to honor those who lost their lives on 9/11/2001. This year, the event will also feature Walk for a Fallen Hero, a 1.1 mile walk offered for participants who want to get involved but cannot climb stairs. Click here to buy tickets.

Where: Statehouse Convention Center (Little Rock)

The Arkansas Comic Con will be taking place in Little Rock this weekend. This year’s lineup includes a full-scale anime convention, celebrities and voice actors including Tom Kenny, the voice of Spongebob Squarepants; Charles Martinet, the voice of Mario and Luigi; and more. What: Main Street Food Truck Festival 

Where: Main Street, Little Rock

When: 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. 

This year’s event boasts 60 food trucks – including selections from tacos, BBQ, and cajun to crepes, cinnamon rolls and ice cream. Many of the intersections along Main Street will also house beer tents. Events include Gemini Fitness Aerial Performers, the Driving the Cure Car Show to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Hounds Lounge Dog Pawty Zone – so your dog can join in on all the fun, too. What: Sunday Funday at the Winery with The Prickly Pickle & Boards and Bubbles 

Where: Sunset Lodge at Rusty Tractor Vineyards ( Little Rock)

When: 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. 

Guests are invited to enjoy a relaxing Sunday afternoon at Rusty Tractor Vineyards in West Little Rock. Live music will be performed by Ben Byers and weather permitting, the patio will be open as well as the sunroom. There will also be a bloody mary and mimosa bar available.

What: Industry Dawgs

Where: Bark Bar (Little Rock)

Industry dogs and their parents who work in the bar or restaurant industry are invited to join the Bark Bar every Sunday night from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This event will feature $7 Busch & Branca, a free shift drink for your pup and $5 Mini Moonshine Slushes. What: Engage Arkansas 9/11 Commemorative services 

Where: Various locations

When: Various times 

Engage Arkansas will partner with Arkansas Collegiate Service Leadership Councils in order to commemorate the 9/11/2001 terrorist attacks. Hundreds of volunteers are expected to gather in order to work with local fire departments to canvas neighborhoods and identify at-risk homes, installing fire alarms. This volunteer effort provides additional focus to senior citizens, veterans and first responders. 

 

Monday, September 12

What: Little Rock Touchdown Club Guest Speaker Series featuring Paul Finebaum

Where: DoubleTree Hotel (downtown Little Rock)

When: 11:00 a.m.

The Little Rock Touchdown Club’s annual guest speaker series, presented by Simmons Bank, takes place every week, and this Monday Paul Finebaum, Southeastern Conference Network Broadcaster, will be speaking. Lunch will be served at 11:00 a.m. and the program will start at 11:40 a.m. Tickets are $25 for members and $35 for non-members.
