Arkansas is filled with some great food and drink bloggers. Each month at AY About You, we’ll be doing a round-up post featuring all the wonderful writing and picture-taking going on throughout the state. If there is a blog you’d like to be featured, please email me at kshalin@aymag.com

Happy Birthday to Bearded Chef Guy, who recently celebrated the occasion by doing what he does best: cooking. Here’s this ribeye he sliced right on his very own custom cutting board. Here’s another pic of his shrimp & grits, voodoo style

Sorry for a little self-promotion, but Emily and Amy, the wonderful ladies behind Conversations Cocktails + Connections, invited me to join their podcast. Fun times and great conversation ensued. They are doing a fantastic job with all the interviews, and big bonus, you get a cocktail recipe and demo with each episode.

The Little Rock Foodie fancies sushi, and I am right there with him. He was at Kemuri, taking advantage of their awesome lunch specials. Sushi can be expensive, so props to the restaurant for offering reasonable daytime deals.

Guess who was also at Kemuri? James from Tip Top Chew, that’s who.

Think about joining the Arkansas Taco Mafia page. It’s kind of a no-brainer, because tacos.

Kaylie and Hannah of The Know It Alls were in Hot Springs and recently had this to say about a local pizza place. I think we can all agree that the town has some fantastic options.

Eat Little Rock did a wonderful job last week of helping promote our first ever Rock City Burger Week. I am already looking forward to it next year, when I’m sure the list of participating restaurants will be even larger.

Joel from Southern Ash Blog was up in Bentonville, checking out some popular spots like Bar Cleeta, Markham & Fitz, and Airship Coffee, just to name a few. Don’t be thrown off by the name of Bar Cleeta, while the bar is great, the food is also noteworthy.

The Bearded Foodie was at North Little Rock’s Filling Station, partaking in some food from Low Ivy Catering. Check it out. I just mentioned how our food truck scene here in Central Arkansas has really taken off in the past three to four years, and Low Ivy is a big part of that. The list of great trucks almost seems endless at this point.

My friend, Erika, has a fairly new blog called The Kitchen on Goshen Hill. Please go give it a follow and then watch her video on making tomato pie. I can tell you without a shred of doubt that Erika’s an excellent cook, and as you’ll see in the video, she’s also smooth in front of the camera.

Smoke Signals has a giveaway going on

Arkansas Trendsetter paid a visit to a place that has quickly become one of my favorite spots in town, the Rail Yard. I’ll probably be there even more once these temps cool off just a bit.

The NWA Lunch Bunch gives a big thumbs up to The Szechuan House in Springdale.

Almost all of us love a good egg salad, and Maruka at With a Glass of Wine has this 6-ingredient recipe ready for you to read (and eventually cook).

Jess of eating_with_jess_ has an update on a restaurant that I’ve been wanting to try for a few months, Rivera Italian Restaurant in North Little Rock. I really need to get over there.

Road trip for the LitFoodie.
