LITTLE ROCK, AR – Central Arkansas Library System’s (CALS) 2018 Summer Reading Club (SRC) is winding down, but participants can look forward to activities happening through the end of July, including SRC Celebration: Libraries Rock!, a screening of The Greatest Showman and free entry to an Arkansas Travelers baseball game. SRC registration is still open at www.cals.org.
Summer Reading Club participants are eligible to pick up a free general admission ticket at any CALS branch (while supplies last) for the July 26 Travelers game versus the Tulsa Drillers. On Saturday, July 28, 10:00 a.m.-noon, the library will host SRC Celebration: Libraries Rock!, a day of musical activities and games at Hillary Rodham Clinton Children’s Library & Learning Center. SRC officially concludes with a free showing of The Greatest Showman (PG), sing-a-long version, Monday, July 30, 6:00 p.m., at CALS Ron Robinson Theater.
Since May, more than 9,500 people have registered for Summer Reading Club, making this year the most successful SRC since 2015.
Summer Reading Club is an annual program designed for readers of all ages and features a variety of programs across all CALS locations. The program is made possible by the taxpayers of Pulaski and Perry counties and by generous sponsors: Friends of Central Arkansas Libraries (FOCAL), Windstream and Arvest. This project is made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
