Today, business leaders and educators had the opportunity to see the future of Wall Street.

Students from around Arkansas gathered at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock for the 2019 Stock Market Game Luncheon presented by Economics Arkansas and the SIFMA Foundation. During the event, the winners of the fall and spring sessions, as well as the year-round games were recognized with certificates and trophies.

The Stock Market Game is an “online stimulation of global capital markets” that is designed to teach students grades 4-12 about finance, investing and economics. Since its inception, the program has impacted 17 million students.

The overall winning teams for the 2019 Arkansas Stock Market Game are Waldron Middle School, Lakeside Junior High School, and Little Rock Christian Academy.

Participating students had the chance to tell what the Stock Market Game meant to them and what they learned during the session. Students from Taylor Elementary School (White Hall School District) explained to the audience how to buy low and sell high, diversify and buy more stock – all to the tune of “Baby Shark.”

He went on to describe his early career at Walmart, working under Sam Walton and his rise within the company.
