Starbucks COO Mike Grams recently shared a letter with the company’s partners announcing the closure of approximately 250 of its coffeehouses, representing about 1 percent of the 18,000 North America locations.
Grams said this decision was made as part of the company’s “Back to Starbucks” strategy, while also noting the difficulty of the decision. He said the specific locations were chosen “where we do not believe we can consistently deliver the experience we want for customers and partners or where we don’t see a path to acceptable financial performance.”
“We’re speaking directly with impacted partners and will support them through this transition, including transfer opportunities wherever possible. For partners we are unable to place in another coffeehouse, we will provide severance support,” the note says.
According to multiple media outlets, Starbucks locations impacted in Arkansas include:
- 2071 W Center St in Beebe
- 905 E Oak St in Conway
- 91 S Broadview St in Greenbrier
- 13820 David O’Dodd Rd in Little Rock
- 3915 S University in Little Rock
