Spring Cocktails: Libations for the Season’s Longer, Warmer Days

As the days get longer and warmer, Arkansans are spending more time enjoying outdoor spaces. From personal places on the front porch and the back deck to dining al fresco or drinking on the patio at a favorite watering hole, it’s time to gather with friends and unwind over a round of cocktails. Nothing says sophistication like being prepared with a new recipe for a round of fresh libations. In this special section, AY shares some of our favorite spring cocktail creations. One Eleven 
1000 Roses

1 oz. Adelaide Rose Liqueur

1 oz. ruby red grapefruit juice

1 oz. lemon juice

1/2 oz. simple syrup

2 Dashes Peychaudís Bitters

Garnish: rose petal, ice cube

1 oz. Belvedere Ginger Zest Vodka

.75 oz. Domaine de Canton

.50 lime

Top with Cava

Garnish: long lime twist

Cool Breeze

This spring-inspired concoction blends together
Skinos Mastiha Liqueur,
Giffard Menthe-Pastille,
Dolin Blanc Vermouth,
lemon and Pernod.

Sauce(d)
French Riviera

1 1/2 oz. Broker’s Gin

1 oz. Pomegranate Monin

1 oz. lemon juice

Directions: Combine ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake. Strain into a champagne flute and top with champagne.

Garnish: lemon twist

Smoking Bulleit      

2 oz. Bulleit Bourbon

1/2 oz. Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur

2 drops Bittermanís Burlesque Bitters

Directions: Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass. Fill with ice and stir. Straininto double rocks glass with big rock. Smoke cocktail and cover.

Blood Orange Basil Margarita

3/4 oz. Blood Orange Liqueur

1 1/2 oz. Reposado Tequila

3 oz. Samanthaís house-made margarita mix

1/4 oz. simple syrup

Directions: Shake with ice, blood orange and basil

Garnish: Blood orange, lime and basil
