It’s been a while since we’ve had the opportunity to make this one… but the snow is here and we’re excited to make some snow cream!!

Now, most people are on board with the whole snow cream idea, but every once in a while you’ll hear the occasional “ewww, there’s no way I’m eating snow from the ground” comment. And to that, I say, “don’t be an idiot.” Clearly, these people didn’t have someone who taught them how to find a clean patch of freshly-fallen snow every winter just for this recipe!

Snow cream is a favorite not only for its simplicity but for the memories loved ones create while making it together. All it takes are three ingredients: snow, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla extract.

So how do we make it? If I’m being honest, my family never used exact measurements for snow cream, but that’s not very helpful for the purposes of this article. So instead, I’ll guide you in the best direction possible, and then you can put your own new twist on the recipe if you’d like.

You’ll want to put about 8-12 cups of fluffy snow into a large bowl, add a teaspoon of vanilla extract, and then start adding about 10 ounces of sweetened condensed milk while you mix it all together.

If you don’t have a bowl big enough for all the snow at once, you can put half of it in the freezer and mix all the other ingredients together first. Afterward, there should be room for you to add the rest of your snow. You could also add the sweetened condensed milk little by little rather than all at once, as it does become harder to stir. It’s really all about getting it to whatever consistency you want.

And that’s really it! It’s done! If you really want to get fancy with it, some people add sprinkles or top it off with some type of fruit. But personally, I like to keep it simple.
