Sing Along to The Greatest Showman

If you’re a fan of musicals, you don’t want to miss the opportunity to sing your heart out to The Greatest Showman at the CALS Ron Robinson Theater.

On July 30, doors to the theater will open at 5 p.m., and the sing-a-long show begins at 6 p.m.

Admission is free.

Tameka Lee of CALS says The Greatest Showman was chosen because it’s a popular musical, and fits well into the library system’s “Libraries Rock” Summer Reading Club theme.

“We’re excited to celebrate the end of our summer programs with our patrons. There’s a happiness that comes from watching them enjoy the library’s programs and having a chance to experience it with them,” she says.

“In many ways, films are the ultimate representation of the written word—in particular movies that are musicals—because they combine a script, lyrics and composition. The sing-a-long encourages participation, so it feels more like a group event than a traditional screening does.”

The Summer Reading Club is an annual program, and while most of the activities are geared toward youth, CALS hosted adult activities this year as well.
