The City of Searcy will officially celebrate the completion of major upgrades to Berryhill Park with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, May 21, at 4 p.m.
Community members are invited to attend the event and explore the park’s newly added features, including an all-inclusive playground designed for children of all abilities, a splash pad, updated walking trails, expanded parking and additional improvements aimed at creating more opportunities for recreation and family activities.
The park upgrades are part of the city’s long-term investment in quality-of-life projects identified through the #MySearcy master planning initiative. Funding for the improvements came through the voter-approved bond initiative passed in 2024.
“Berryhill Park has always been a special place for Searcy families, and these improvements make it even better,” said Mayor Mat Faulkner. “We’re excited to officially open these new amenities and provide a space where children of all abilities can play, families can gather, and our community can enjoy the outdoors.”
The celebration will feature remarks from city leaders and members of the Berryhill family, along with complimentary hot dogs, chips and drinks provided by local businesses. Face painting and opportunities to explore the new amenities will also be available during the event.
The park’s master plan was completed by Crafton Tull. Davidson Engineering served as the lead design firm for the project, while Hart Construction was the general contractor.
Berryhill Park is located at 2001 East Moore Avenue in Searcy.
