Downtown Fayetteville is getting ready for a big Razorback football weekend with Rumble in the Ramble: Hogs & Dogs on Friday, Sept. 18.

The free celebration will take place from 5 to 10 p.m. in the Upper Ramble, bringing together Razorback fans, Fayetteville High School supporters and visitors for an evening of football, food and entertainment ahead of Arkansas’ SEC matchup against the University of Georgia.

Presented by the Downtown Fayetteville Coalition and Experience Fayetteville in association with the University of Arkansas and Fayetteville High School spirit programs, the event will feature appearances by Razorback and Fayetteville High School spirit squads, student-athletes, mascots and Tusk.

Attendees can also enjoy music, games, photo opportunities, fan experiences, and food and beverages available for purchase.

“Rumble in the Ramble is everything we love about a football weekend in Fayetteville,” said Kelly Rich, executive director of the Downtown Fayetteville Coalition. “It’s a chance to bring together Razorback fans, Fayetteville High School supporters, local restaurants, businesses and families in one place before kickoff. Whether you’re visiting for the game or you’ve lived here your whole life, we want everyone to experience the energy, hospitality and community spirit that make Fayetteville unlike anywhere else.”

The evening’s centerpiece will be the Hogs & Dogs Wing Competition, benefiting Fayetteville High School Spirit. Ten local teams will compete for awards, including Best Flavor, Most Heat, Most Creative and Best All-Around.

Thanks to Tyson Foods, each team will receive 2,000 chicken wings to prepare for the competition.

The competition awards will be presented at 5 p.m., after which attendees can purchase wings from the participating teams. Proceeds will benefit Fayetteville High School Spirit.

The evening’s schedule includes:

  • 5 p.m. — Wing competition awards and public wing sales begin
  • 5:30-7:30 p.m. — Fayetteville High School and University of Arkansas pep rallies, mascot games, a wing-eating challenge, fan experiences and photo opportunities
  • 8 p.m. — Live concert featuring The Rodney Block Collective

Admission is free and open to the public. Food, beverages and competition wings will be available for purchase throughout the evening.
