Robert K. Raines: Whatever I Conceive and Believe, I Can Achieve

Some time ago, in 2007 to be exact, when I began to lose faith that I could complete the project known as The Gangster Museum of America, I was given a message that gave me the strength to forge ahead, and the rest is history. The funny thing about history is that it seems to repeat itself, and as fate would have it, I recently found myself in a situation much the same in a related project. Once again, I was given some words of wisdom. My self-imposed deadlines faded away, and the work continues. I found what I needed sitting in my inbox. So, I would like to pass on that message from the Daily Word to you in hopes that you, too, can plow on if you ever find yourself in a similar frame of mind and need some motivation.

Achieve

Whatever I conceive and believe, I can achieve.

If am beset by doubt, wondering whether I can do the thing I dream of doing, I remind myself of all the times I rose to a challenge and did the difficult thing.

Everything I can think to do, no matter how challenging, begins as an idea. It doesn’t matter how bold the dream or how audacious the plan. If I can conceive an idea, then I can achieve it. I bring my many spiritual gifts to bear, using my imagination to give shape and form to the idea, my zeal to get started, and my strength to persevere through challenges and keep going.

Achieving new things gives my life depth and meaning. Rising to challenges helps me grow and give myself to life. All that is mine to do is possible for me to achieve, because I believe in myself as the dynamic activity of God.
