At least two movies featuring big names such as Nick Offerman, Dennis Quaid, Michael Rooker, Theo Rossi and more, are currently being filmed in Northwest Arkansas, according to Fayetteville Flyer.

 

One of the movies that caught the public’s attention is currently titled, “Sovereign,” and is being written and directed by Christian Swegal. Reportedly based on true events, the movie’s IMDb page describes it as an action/crime/drama about a father and son duo who self-identify as Sovereign Citizens and find themselves in a standoff with a chief of police, which sets off a manhunt. It’s slated for a theatrical release in late 2024 or 2025.

 

Starring in “Sovereign” will be Nick Offerman (“Parks and Recreation,” “We Are The Millers,” “The Last of Us”), Dennis Quaid (“The Parent Trap,” “The Rookie,” “The Day After Tomorrow”), Jacob Tremblay (“Room,” “Before I Wake,” “Wonder”) and more. The second film, “The Underneath: In Fortune’s Shadow,” is being written and directed by David L. Hunt, who is known for his work on “Greater.” The movie’s IMDb page describes it as an action movie about a knight of the underworld who has three days to find his adversary and his answer. Filming will continue through March 16 in Northwest Arkansas, according to the casting ads.

 

Starring in “The Underneath: In Fortune’s Shadow” will be Theo Rossi (“Sons of Anarchy,” “Luke Cage,” “Emily the Criminal”), Michael Rooker (“Slither,” “The Walking Dead,” “Guardians of the Galaxy”), Arkansas’ very own Bobby Batson (“90 Minutes in Heaven,” “Partners,” “The Ghost Beyond”) and more.
