Springwoods Behavioral Health, of Fayetteville, provides quality behavioral health care services that patients recommend to families and friends, physicians prefer for their patients, and employees are proud to provide. Springwoods Behavioral Health, located at 1955 W. Truckers Drive, is an 80-bed behavioral health facility providing comprehensive care for adolescents, adults, geriatrics and a unit designed exclusively for women. The 6-acre campus opened in 2009 and is adjacent to a 123-acre Audubon wildlife and bird sanctuary, providing a secluded and serene setting for comfort and healing. Located off Highway 112, the facility is easily accessible to residents of Northwest Arkansas and the surrounding communities.

Keeping you and our community healthy and safe, as well as maintaining mental well-being, have always been and remain our top priorities. As we face challenges presented by COVID-19, we also strive to provide the care and support you and your family need to stay healthy — physically, mentally and emotionally. We are here for you whether or not that is in person at our psychiatric ER and hospital or remotely with our available telehealth programs as well.

Our telehealth programs enable you to remotely connect with clinicians for health care services and information by phone, tablet or computer. Utilizing user-friendly, HIPAA-compliant video and communications technology, this service allows you to see and speak with a doctor, nurse or therapist just as you would during an in-person consultation — all in real time, respectful of social distancing practices, and from your own home, office or anywhere you may be.

The adult acute inpatient program treats mental health patients in an intensive therapeutic structure, providing medical and psychiatric stabilization with 24-hour nursing care for patients experiencing critical symptoms. Springwoods offers a comprehensive treatment approach to stabilizing acute psychiatric and addictive disease problems in a safe and structured environment. Inpatient services treat suicidal/homicidal thoughts, medical detoxification, drug/alcohol abuse, depression/mood disorders, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, panic/anxiety, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Inpatient services for aging adults are also offered on our Silver Springs for Senior Adults at Springwoods Behavioral Health. Mental illness affects aging adults just as it does other age groups. However, with aging adults, symptomology is often ignored or overlooked as a “normal” part of the aging process. Warning signs that could indicate the need for treatment include: anxiety/agitation, confusion/disorientation, depression, fear/paranoia, fluctuations in weight, hallucinations/delusions, increase in alcohol or medication use, loss of interest in appearance, memory loss, mood swings, sleep disturbances, social withdrawal, suicidal thoughts and wandering. Although older adults may frequently experience these behaviors, in many cases the true cause may be psycho-physiologic and, therefore, very treatable. If you suspect these issues have become difficult to manage, schedule an assessment with a mental health professional.

Day treatment programs are also offered through our telehealth programs at Springwoods Behavioral Health. Adult patients who have achieved some stability but continue to need more intensive treatment than traditional outpatient therapy, or to prevent hospitalization, may be treated within the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) or Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). Springwoods offers treatment for mood and anxiety disorders, co-occurring disorders (psychiatric and substance abuse disorders), personality disorders and family/interpersonal conflicts.

Springwoods Behavioral Health accepts referrals from the professional community (doctors, hospitals, therapists, social workers, nurses, schools, courts, churches and community agencies) as well as from families.

Qualified assessment and referral staff perform assessments 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, at no charge. Each assessment is evaluated by a physician who recommends the appropriate level of care for treatment. Recommendations are then discussed with the patient/family to assist in making an informed decision about treatment.

Springwoods Behavioral Health is a provider for most insurance/managed care plans, as well as Medicare, and is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JTC) and licensed by the Arkansas Department of Health. On behalf of our team here at Springwoods, we would like to extend an offer to the community for anyone who is interested in our services or would like to learn more about mental and behavioral health care. The stigma on mental illness is an issue we face together as a community, and it is through information and positive experiences that we can make a difference. If you have any questions or would like some additional information about the specialty programs or services we offer, please feel free to contact us.
