Little Rock favorite Loca Luna will be temporarily closing, its owner has announced.

Starting Jan. 6, the restaurant will be closing due to increases in COVID-19 cases. A post on Loca Luna’s social media account cited the “outrageous surge” in cases that had “created a dangerous situation,” along with decreased customer numbers, as the reason for closing.

In a phone call, a Loca Luna employee stated that the restaurant was shooting for reopening later in spring 2021. The projected reopening is for mid-March or April.

On social media, Loca Luna expressed optimism the future. “We are confident that with the vaccine, we will one day soon be able to serve you face to face and once again be a part of the vibrant Little Rock dining scene,” the post reads.
