Thursday 2/7

The Creek Rocks/ South on Main – 1304 Main St. / 8 /  $10 advance, $12 door

Kicking off South on Main’s Love in Harmony Weekend are bluegrass folk sweethearts Cindy Woolf and Mark Bilyeu. The Creek Rocks sing songs they’ve written about love, love gone wrong, and dusting off songs from their “wedding songs” notebook.  It’s a night for sweethearts, true believers, and those of us that wait for the perfect murder ballad. Central Arkansas’ premier burlesque troupe from Hot Springs comes to The Joint to tempt, tease, and tantalize.  Featuring the smooth talking Master of Ceremonies Vinny Vadge and performances from The Spa City Starlets of the Strip.

Abandoned Arkansas/ The Bookstore at Library Square – 120 River Market Ave / 5-8

Come meet author Ginger Beck, co-author of Abandoned Arkansas: An Echo from the Past, and hear the stories that make up this unique look into places from our state’s past.

Light, Lines, & Shadows Art Opening/ Yella Dog Press – 917 W. Markham / 5-9

Featuring the linoleum blocks and limited edition prints from Perrion Hurd & the profile portraiture of Ebony Blevins.  Live music from local blues artist Ben “Swamp Donkey” Brenner.  Come enjoy the exhibit, visit with the artist, and see the letterpress print shop at Yella Dog Press.

Brian Nahlen/ Creegen’s Irish Pub – 301 Main St. NLR. / 8

Local singer-songwriter Brian Nahlen comes to Cregeen’s for a night of originals and some of your Rock & Roll Favorites.  Listen close for songs from his upcoming album “Behind Blue Skies.”

Kami & Gavin/ South on Main – 1304 Main St. / 9 / $8 advance, $10 door

Night two of Love in Harmony brings the soulful sounds of Kami Renee and Gavin Le’nard.  You’ve probably seen them playing bass and guitar for Dazz & Brie and witnessed their special nonverbal musical connection. Now it’s time for them to showcase that special connection with their duo in their South on Main debut.  It’s sure to kindle the fire with couples and warm the hearts of the singles. Amasa Hines & DOT/ White Water Tavern – 2500 W. 7th St. / 9:30 / $10

Those Mermaid sisters from Little Rock, Daughters of Triton (DOT), kick off this show with their siren’s pop rock song; then get ready for the one of kind mystical rock & soul sounds from Little Rock’s critically acclaimed five-piece band Amasa Hines.

Valentine’s Party with Mömandpöp/ South on Main – 1304 Main St. / 10 a.m. / $5

Bring the kids and the kids at heart for a special Valentine’s show from husband and wife songwriters Bobby Matthews and Virginia Ralph, Mömandpöp, a musical comedy and variety show geared specially for pre-school and early elementary children.  The show will start at 11 with an activity station from The Wonder Place and a brown bag brunch (for kids and adults) starting at 10 a.m. Get your tickets here.

DeFrance, Dazz & Brie, The Frontier Circus, M/ Stickyz Rock n’ Roll Chicken Shack – 107 River Market Ave. / 8 / $7

It’s Little Rock classic rock & rollers DeFrance’s first show of 2019, and they’ve invited some of their talented Central Arkansas friends to join in the fun. The rock & soul of Dazz & Brie, the pop/rock/funk of M, and the Psycho-western Circus of The Frontier Circus.  This night has something for everyone and with this line up is gonna be fun!

One Love’s 12th Annual Bob Marley Birthday Bash/ Revolution Music Room – 300 President Clinton Ave / 8:30 / $15

Come celebrate the life and musical legacy of the one and only Bob Marley. Leading this celebration is one of the hottest regional reggae bands touring today, The Ambush Reggae Band.  This party is 12 years strong and those good vibes keep going.  As the man sang; “One good thing about music, when it hits you feel no pain.”   Get your tickets here.

The final night of South on Main’s Love in Harmony concludes with Angela Paradis and Derek Wood, the feel-good country Americana trio, The Going Jessies.  Their sound has been described as a front porch in summertime, sure to warm you and your sweetie up this chilly winter weekend. John Paul Keith/ The White Water Tavern – 2500 W. 7th St. / 9 / $7

A favorite of the White Water, Memphis Telecaster man John Paul Keith returns to the Tavern for a night of rockin’ country soul and rockabilly straight from the home of Sun Studios.

Zakk and Big Papa Bins/ Four Quarter Bar – 415 Main St. NLR / 10

A solid dose of foot stompin’ Delta blues from father-son duo Zakk and Big Papa Binns with their dueling slide guitars and one-man band style drums.  Between playing with legendary blues musicians like the late great Cedell Davis to busking on the streets of Helena and blues clubs across the region, they have paid their dues and solidified their sound. Blues lovers: do not miss this show.
