Korto Momolu confirmed rumors of her return to Bravo’s “Project Runway” Monday morning, May 8, in a Facebook post

The Little Rock-based fashion designer will be joining names such as Elaine Welteroth and Nina Garcia, both of whom will judge this season, and other designers such as Wes Gorden and Zac Posen. She will also be among other designers from the competition TV show’s previous 19 seasons.

In an earlier interview, Momolu described her gratitude for the show, as it helped to further launch her career in fashion design.

“Being on ‘Project Runway’ was a scary but incredibly exciting journey,” Momulo said, describing her previous experience. “I never, in my wildest dreams, thought that I, an African woman local to Arkansas, would not only have a presence on the show but go all the way to the end.”

Momolu has been designing since she was in high school, and draws life experiences and culture into her work, creating art for people to wear.

“I want to create fashion because of the moment I first started buying fashion when I felt visible, special and beautiful. I hope my customers feel emotion from the details in the clothes that I’ve created,” Momolu said.
