Home for the Holidays on Friday, December 2, 2016 will be the first annual showcasing that Our House will do to help those without homes, while highlighting the supporters who make the work possible. The event will be at the newly renovated Robinson Center and chaired by Tabietha and Bill Dillard.

Every year, Our House serves nearly 1,900 people, over 600 of whom are children. Our House is the only program in the state of Arkansas that meets all the needs of homeless families. This is accomplished through housing, children’s programs, intensive job training, case management, and much more.  Our House works to empower people to move from homelessness to self-sufficiency.

The proof is in the results. In 2015, 499 adults found full-time jobs, 288 employers hired their clients, and 70% of housing clients moved out of homelessness upon exit. These are just some of the statistics of which make a big difference, as Arkansas is ranked 47th nationally for its child and family homelessness problem.

Home for the Holidays will include auctions of fabulous packages and original art, delicious food and libations, and a warm gathering of some of the most generous people in central Arkansas. Bill Dillard III and his wife Tabietha have taken this on as their latest charitable mission. “When individuals are given a hand up not a handout, lives are forever changed. They regain their dignity and sense of purpose. They are able to care for their children and themselves in ways they didn’t think possible”, said Tabietha Dillard.

Tabietha believes that the Dillard family is responsible for what they have, “It could be time, wisdom, money, encouragement, organizational skills, the ability to cook or play music. As a family, we want to be good stewards of whatever has been given to us.” This year’s gala will be Our House organization’s first, and with the help of the community will be a huge success, raising money and generating awareness for this great cause.
