TheTravel, a travel and adventure publisher that highlights not only destinations but also the hows, whys, whats and whens of traveling, recently named Eureka Springs as #1 on its list of “Best Small Art Towns in the U.S.”

“One of the US mountain towns with the most beautiful views, Eureka Springs is brimming with some of the most impressive museums and galleries in Arkansas,” TheTravel wrote, noting that the town is home to some 400 talented working artists.

Although the list mentions Quicksilver Gallery, Aviation Cadet Museum and Zarks Gallery as some of the top spots to visit, there are numerous other galleries and museums in the historic town, such as the Statton Gallery, the Wilson and Wilson Folk Art Company, and the Bible Museum and Sacred Arts Gallery.

The town is also home to the Eureka Springs School of the Arts, a 55-acre campus with seven teaching studios and numerous workshop opportunities, as well as the annual Festival of the Arts, which invites the community to enjoy art exhibits, demonstrations, performances, culinary arts and music, all for free.
