Elicia Dover, co-host of Good Afternoon Arkansas on KATV, has announced she will be leaving the company.

In a post on Facebook, Dover says next week will be her last week working at Channel 7, and her final day will be Thursday, Aug. 31. After 10 years with KATV, she has decided not to renew her contract.

“Now that I have two boys, I am wanting more time at home with my kids. I want to be able to pick them up from school, go on field trips and finally enjoy the holidays. Being a journalist in my hometown at KATV has been my greatest dream come true and launching Good Afternoon Arkansas is a fun legacy to leave behind. This is bittersweet for me . . . Thank you for a wonderful 10 years!” Dover says in her post.

Dover also noted that she will still be in central Arkansas and hopes to still be involved with the local media in the community.
