Getting presents is one of the great parts of the holiday season. But giving them is even better.
AY Publisher Heather Baker is challenging our readers to give back to those who need it most. One of Baker’s passion projects is foster care and helping these children get their footing.
This holiday season, the Second Chance Youth Ranch is collecting luggage for its foster care children. When the children move away from the ranch, whether it’s back home or into an adoptive placement, they need a suitcase to carry their belongings.
Second Chance Youth Ranch has a “no trash bags” policy when the kids leave the ranch. They do not put the kids’ belongings in trash bags when they leave because they feel that this sends a negative message. Suitcases let the kids pack up with dignity!
We are encouraging our readers to purchase suitcases, duffle bags or other types of luggage to give to this deserving organization. Together, we can give these kids a present and impact their lives in a meaningful way.
In addition to First Chance Youth Ranch, we are also collecting luggage for The Call and Project Zero, both organizations that are committed to finding families for children in foster care.
Visit your local retail store or shop online to find luggage for these organizations. Once you have the luggage, you can bring it by AY’s office and we will deliver it for you.
AY Magazine’s office is located at 910 W. 2ndStreet in downtown Little Rock. Our phone number is 501-244-9700.
