Arkansas is known for being home to the only public diamond dig site in the country, but for one day, that experience is coming to another city within the Natural State.

On Saturday, April 25, Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort is hosting Fan Appreciation Day, giving guests a chance to win a 2-carat diamond valued at more than $5,000.

The promotion is simple: Visitors can swipe their ID at any racing station throughout the day to enter. After races one through seven, 35 winners will be selected. Each winner will then make a choice to either take the cash prize or try their luck in the event’s “Dig for a Diamond” experience.

In partnership with Lauray’s The Diamond Center, Oaklawn is offering participants the chance to uncover one of 25 certified diamonds during the promotion.

The concept plays off Arkansas’ unique claim to fame as the only state where the public can search for certified diamonds at Crater of Diamonds State Park. For this one-day event, Oaklawn is bringing a version of that experience to Hot Springs.

Fan Appreciation Day adds an extra layer of excitement to an already action-packed day at the races, blending the thrill of live racing with the possibility of walking away with a sparkling prize.

Aside from the opportunity to dig for diamonds, there will be other prizes and giveaways throughout the day. Fans can also enjoy free hot dogs, soda and popcorn, while supplies last.
