Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and the Council of Fashion Designers of America have partnered to host a Fashion Symposium in celebration of the museum’s first-ever fashion exhibition: Fashioning America: Grit to Glamour.

 

The event will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 27 from 12:45 p.m. to 4:10 p.m. at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Great Hall. This collaborative partnership brings together top fashion insiders with special conversations by Tommy Hilfiger, Tracy Reese, Aurora James, Bethann Hardison, Omar Salam, Vice President of Nike Tania Flynn and more.

 

The Fashion Symposium convenes leading industry voices to celebrate American fashion design and share stories, experiences and insight on sustainability, diversity, equity and inclusion. This extraordinary day of programming features conversations on empowering a future generation of female entrepreneurs, Inclusive Design, Responsible Luxury, the Future of Fashion and supporting the next generation of Black fashion designers.

 

A talk with Fashioning America curators Michelle Finamore and design consultant Ruben Toledo explores themes such as the representation of designers from diverse backgrounds, celebration of American fashion design, curation and much more.

Fashioning America: Grit to Glamour is organized by Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, with guest curator Michelle Tolini Finamore, Ph.D., and visual artist Ruben Toledo, who serves as the design consultant for the exhibition.
