Cross Creek Sandwich Shop in downtown Conway has revealed plans for a new expansion into an adjacent space, doubling its size by adding 1,800 square feet from Jennifer’s Antiques.

“As we’ve experienced this new phase of growth with catering, and more people coming in to eat with us on a daily basis, we’ve reached the point where we can no longer put it off. We are bursting at the seams! In the kitchen, in the prep areas, in the dining room-everywhere,” owner Caitlin Bailey said on Facebook. “I’ll never forget the day I watched a line of people waiting to order and one of our team members carrying food out to a table trying to navigate that line, like a bad train wreck, I watched the bump as someone turned and the food went flying- it was then I knew we had to do something!”

The expansion will bring not only additions to Cross Creek’s physical space but also to its menu, bringing whole pies, whole cakes and numerous other treats, as well as extended business hours to offer breakfast every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Other improvements to the space will include an expanded kitchen, pantry and prep spaces, as well as a full baking area and a dedicated catering van.

Cross Creek has called on the community to support the expansion through donations, which can earn commemorative memorabilia such as t-shirts, mugs and stickers as well as tickets to the reveal party.

“I realized really quickly that Cross Creek has very little to do with serving people food; it is an opportunity to serve our community in a really unique way,” Bailey said. “For that reason, I will never see Cross Creek as just a sandwich shop. This is our ministry, it’s our place to serve our community. I truly believe with every fiber of my being, the best days of Cross Creek are ahead of us.”
