More concerts will be coming to downtown Little Rock soon thanks to a new promotion agreement.

The Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau (LRCVB) has partnered with Awakening Events, a nationwide live event company, to bring ticketed concerts to the First Security Amphitheater in Little Rock’s Riverfront Park. Awakening Events will have exclusive rights to book and promote the events through 2023.

As part of the agreement, Awakening must bring a minimum of three “A-Tier” concerts in 2019, followed by six concerts annually from 2020 to 2023. According to a LRCVB press release, an “A-Tier” artist is one who “tours nationally or globally, having the documented ability to sell 2,000 or more tickets.”

Gretchen Hall, LRCVB President & CEO said, “I am excited about this new partnership and the quality of entertainment it will provide in Little Rock.”

Awakening Events, which is owned by Arkansan Dan Fife, has also produced concerts at other Arkansas venues such as the Verizon Arena and Wal-Mart Amphitheater, as well as national venues, such as Madison Square Garden. Awakening is partnering with Starr Hill Presents, an artist management company, to arrange artists and promote the concerts.

“We are excited to get back into the Amp business on the River in Riverfront Park. It is a great venue and we need to start offering regular and diverse concert programming again,” Fife said.
