Great American Eggsperiment
from Capital Bar & Grill
Each drink on this list from Capital Bar & Grill was chosen because of its historical relevance, and researched and created by bartender Brad Smith. First up is this Civil War-era (1844-1877) cocktail, a whiskey sour (Four Roses Bourbon, freshly squeezed lemon juice and simple syrup) finished with an egg white flag top.

Two PDR Shot
from Capital Bar & Grill
This cocktail is an Old Fashioned the old way. The whiskey cocktail is made with Four Roses Bourbon, simple syrup, Angostura bitters, Old Fashioned bitters and Peychaud’s Bitters. To create each cocktail the bartender freezes sphere molds and rotates them every few hours, then drains the centers by hand. They fill each sphere with smoke (or sometimes the actual cocktail). The sphere is roughly the size of a cannonball that would have been used during this time period, thus the name “Two Pounder Shot.”
