Celebrate World Lion Day at the Little Rock Zoo

World Lion Day celebrates the king of the jungle in all his majesty, and the Little Rock Zoo is inviting you to “peek into the pride.” Enjoy the warm August sun while it lasts!

The celebration kicks off tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. with a special lion enrichment. Keepers will give the zoo’s three lionsBakari, Inara and Saphira fun enrichment activities that demonstrate the natural behaviors of these fierce felines. They will also engage the public in a conversation about their unique personalities, and what makes them so exceptional.

Keepers will take time to discuss the importance of conserving lions, and what exactly you can do to help. Every bit counts!

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be several fun activities for the family to dig into, including coloring, bead making, musical instruments and more. At 2 p.m., the event will wrap up with a lion training demo.

Zoo hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Admission is $12. 95 for adults, $9.95 for kids three and over, and free for children under two!
