This month, to celebrate the company’s 35th anniversaryAY is bringing you the Burger Bucket List, showcasing the most mouthwatering hamburgers from local restaurants. This week, AY About You President and Publisher Heather Baker and Nichole Niemann with Arkansas Style stop by North Bar.

North Bar, located at 3814 John F Kennedy Blvd in North Little Rock, is jam-packed with burger options. If you’re a big fan of burgers, you’ll have plenty to choose from on the menu.

First off, Baker opts for the Fried Pickle Bacon Burger while Niemann tries out the Frontier Burger.

“I’ve got sauces, I’ve got bacon, I’ve got cheese, a burger, all the fried pickle,” Baker said. “This is scrumdiddlyumptious. I love the mixture of the bacon with the fried pickle because it’s just got that twang with it.”

“Look at the inside of that!” Niemann said. “That’s a meal right there! Mushrooms, bell pepper, chipotle mayo, bacon and pepper jack cheese? Hello! . . . The brioche bun is a great addition. It’s super sweet.”

Next on the menu: the French Burger. It consists of angus beef, provolone, caramelized onions, garlic aioli, lettuce and tomato on a bun.

“This was delicious,” Niemann said. “I feel like the meat was seasoned differently than the Frontier Burger. It’s definitely sweet all the way around.”

“I was about to say, I taste sweetness on this as well,” Baker said.

There’s also a vegetarian option for this menu item called the Green Thumb Pesto Burger.

Baker then decides to try the PB&J Burger. That’s right, it’s exactly how it sounds – a burger with peanut butter and jelly.

“I’m, like, nostalgic eating pb&j as a kid,” Baker said. “It tastes like one of those crustables, but with a burger in it. It’s got bacon on it, too.”

Niemann then tries out the Buffalo Bird, which is a sandwich made with chicken instead of beef.

“Oh, [my son] would love that,” Niemann said. “I’m not getting any heat, lots of vinegar because there’s some dill pickles in here. Yum.”

If there’s one thing that’s certain, it’s that North Bar knows how to build a great burger. Baker said the Fried Pickle Bacon Burger is still her favorite; Niemann chose the Frontier Burger as hers.

You can watch Baker and Niemann try out even more local favorites Wednesdays at 2 p.m. on KARK.
