Update, Aug. 14:

As of Monday, Aug. 14, Johnson & Pace Inc., has submitted an application on behalf of Braum’s Inc. for approval of a conditional use permit, in order to utilize the properties at 2505/2515 Prince St. and 963 Farris Rd. Currently, these properties are zoned as 0-1, but in case of approval, the properties will become home to central Arkansas’ first Braum’s Ice Cream & Dairy location. This store would include a dine-in restaurant with drive-thru services and a fresh market grocery area. If approved, this would be one of the largest stores the company owns, with 6067 square feet dedicated to the storefront, and 2062 square feet of that space dedicated to the grocery area. Most goods and groceries that will be available in that space will be produced at Braum’s Dairy Farm in Tuttle, Oklahoma, and delivered to the store within 36 hours.

As of Aug. 14, the exterior finishes of the building would consist of stone masonry veneer as well as king-size brick veneer. Bicycle racks will be available to accommodate residents, and in respect of adjacent residential properties, the store is planning for a 32 foot landscape buffer along the south boundary of the site, in addition to an 8 foot sight-proof fence with trees, in order to filter noise and light pollution.

Conway might be getting a Braum’s location soon. Rumors have swirled on social media over the past few days about the news, and now there is (at least a little) confirmation.

A local official confirmed to AY About You that Braum’s had purchased land in the city for a prospective location on Hogan Lane. Although, no specific details other than that appear to be available at this time, which suggests things are in the very beginning stages of development, and not necessarily set in stone.

Braum’s, based in Oklahoma City, is well-known for its ice cream, as well as its fast-casual food menu of burgers, fries, and more, as well as breakfast and small grocery store. It was founded in 1968.

There are multiple Braum’s locations scattered throughout Northwest Arkansas, but the one in Conway would mark the first for the brand in Central Arkansas.

AY will continue to monitor this story and provide updates as available.
