The long-awaited west Little Rock location of Blue Ember Smokehouse opened Wednesday, June 19. The restaurant hosted a soft opening Tuesday to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas & North Louisiana.

The barbecue chain, which has locations in Fort Smith, Jonesboro and Texarkana, Texas, announced that it was bringing a restaurant to west Little Rock in October. Blue Ember is known for its prime brisket, along with pork, sausage, burnt ends, ribs, turkey breast and chicken.

Earl Richardson, co-owner, told AY About You in October that Blue Ember also plans to open a Hot Springs location later this year.
