Banker Behind the Bank
Michael Hallmark
Senior Vice President, Northeast Arkansas Market Manager

Michael Hallmark says banking wasn’t his original career plan, but working through college as a part-time teller at a small community bank opened his eyes to the opportunities for advancement the financial world could provide. Seventeen years later, the Pocahontas native is a senior vice president and Northeast Arkansas market manager for IberiaBank.

“I was fortunate to have been presented with opportunities early on at the bank, allowing for advancement,” Hallmark says. “I’ve been fortunate to have held several positions throughout my career at the bank and learned the multifaceted industry from different departments. I seized the opportunities I was presented with and haven’t looked back. I knew I had definitely found my niche and career.”

Hallmark says he has always been fascinated by business and the different and innovative ways people make an income. He loves the industry because he can help people reach their personal and professional goals.

“Banking is a relationship business. A successful banker will add value to their clients and help them be successful in turning their visions into reality,” he says. “It’s not something that happens overnight, but hopefully when it does happen, we keep their trust and relationship for many years.”

“I have had the pleasure of building relationships with numerous successful individuals in our community. It has led to growth for not only our bank but for the community. I think we have helped move Northeast Arkansas forward. That’s something I’m really proud of.”
