Spotlighting the Hard Work It Takes to Make AY Magazine

I love communicating.  Whether it’s the written word or the spoken, I love to chat it up.  So imagine how thrilled I was when my two worlds collided yesterday.

I am a contributor here at AY Magazine, and I’m doing live shots for KARK-TV, Channel 4 until March 1 at 4 p.m. every day.  Most days I’ve been able to feature many women-owned businesses in central Arkansas.  Tanarah Haynie of Tanarah Luxe Floral was interviewed, so was Marietta McClure of McClure Fitness in Benton and Merry Kline of Belle & Blush.

Then yesterday I interviewed the boss here at AY Magazine, a strong female publisher by the name of Heather Baker, while at Democrat Printing and Litho, our printer.  Heather explained what it takes to publish a statewide magazine every month.  As astute readers know, we don’t just publish one magazine here.  We also have Arkansas Money & Politics along with many specialty publications.

As Heather says, “It’s a huge process” putting together a magazine.

We have a lot to be proud of at AY Magazine.  And it shows month after month when a new and even-better-than-last-month’s magazine is published.  This week we should see the March 2019, issue, and we can’t wait! It’s like Christmas here every month.
