Ashley McBryde Named ACM New Female Vocalist of the Year


One rising Arkansas country music star nabbed a big honor today.

Arkansas native Ashley McBryde was named the ACM New Female Vocalist of the Year by the Academy of Country Music. She has also been nominated in the Female Artist of the Year category, which will be revealed during the ACM ceremony in April.

McBryde release her debut album Girl Going Nowhere in 2018. It is currently nominated for a Grammy for Best Country Album. The lead single “A Little Dive Bar in Dahlonega” was released in 2017 and ended up on several Best Songs lists, including The New York Times and Rolling Stone.

She received a call from Carrie Underwood, the 2005 New Female Vocalist winner, informing her of the big news. Check out the video below!


The 54th Academy of Country Music Awards will take place Sunday, April 7 in Las Vegas. It will be broadcast on CBS at 7 p.m. The “A Live Dive Bar in Dahlonega” singer will also perform during the ceremony.
