Arkansas Woman of Inspiration Luncheon

The inaugural Arkansas Woman of Inspiration luncheon benefitting the Children’s Advocacy Centers (CAC) was held today. Shayla Copas and Sara Massana served as co-chairs for the event. The style show featured fashions from Barbara Jean LTD.

Honored with the Blue Ribbon Award was Stephanie Abernathy of NWA, a dedicated volunteer with Benton County CAC.

CAC’s mission is to “model, promote and deliver excellence in child abuse response and prevention through service, education, and leadership.”

First Lady Susan Hutchinson was honored as this year’s Woman of Inspiration and gave a very impassioned acceptance speech about hope. ” … [we are here today to give children hope] … real hope for a better day … Hope to get the nightmares to go away … Hope that the children will have real lives with parents who love them, who see their possibilities … We hope that your hearts are connected and that we can give the children of Arkansas hope and stop this madness. Thank you for looking out for all the children of Arkansas. This honor is wonderful but the children are the most important … ”

Organizers had a goal to raise $5,000 through on-site donations and were delighted to exceed that goal — more than $13,000 was donated.
