A crowd gathered in Fayetteville on Monday for the annual MLK Freedom March. It took place near the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Razorback Road, and was sponsored by the Northwest Arkansas Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Council, the University of Arkansas and the City of Fayetteville.

According to Fayetteville Flyer, participants sang and chanted as they marched through the university campus to the Faulkner Performing Arts Center for the noon vigil, which was sponsored by the university’s Associated Student Government and the Black Students Association.

Mayor Lioneld Jordan and activist Cornel West led the parade, which traveled along Razorback Road and ended at the performing arts center.
