The community of Gravette, Arkansas will be celebrating a big milestone this month with its 129th annual Gravette Day on Aug. 13. 


Gravette Day will be celebrated at Kindley Park with this year’s theme as “Celebrating Community.” Festivities of the day will be celebrated with a parade, pageants, a 5K, car show, live music and art show. 


The parade will kick-off at 12:00 p.m. with floats heading toward Main Street. The parade route will take place from Charlotte SE to Highway 59, Main Street, Sixth SE and then back to Charlotte SE. The grand marshals for this year’s parade are Robert and Geneva Hamilton. 


There will be pageants for contestants ages 0 to 23, who reside in Gravette or attend Gravette School District. Contestants eligible to compete for the Miss Teen Gravette and Miss Gravette titles, will be ages 14-23. All the pageants are sponsored by LKT Dynasty Group LLC.  


The 5K is sponsored by The Gravette Gym and all proceeds will benefit the Gravette Police Department’s Shop with a Cop program. The first 75 participants will receive a 5K T-shirt. To register for the 5K, click here


At Old Bus Barn, the Car Show will take place. Visitors may view impressive entries from across the county and all proceeds of the car show will go toward benefitting the Gravette Historical Museum. The Car Show is free and for information about entering the car show, email


Sponsored by Teasley Drug, Main Stage will host live music. Fayetteville band Rackensak will be providing this year’s live music. The opening ceremony will include awards in several categories, including youngest and oldest person in attendance and the person who traveled farthest to attend the event. All pageant events will commence on the Main Stage. 


The Civic Center will host the art show, which is open to artists from around the area. Awards will be given for the following categories: painting, drawing, 3D art, youth and people’s choice.
