Artist and Composer Faye Hedera, who is known for using vibrant color and an intimate perspective to draw viewers into her paintings, is the creator of “100 Faces of Conway.” The title of the project describes itself – 100 painted portraits of people in Conway, a project she began in order to connect with her new community.

The subjects seen in her most recent art were chosen through nominations, according to the Windgate Museum of Art at Hendrix College, except for a few that she personally invited. The portraits will be on exhibition in the museum through Aug. 30.

If you aren’t able to make it to the exhibition, no worries. Hedera’s “100 Faces of Conway” is available in the form of a book on until December 2023.

Hedera said the following in a Facebook post regarding the book:

“So excited…I can hardly believe it! Sitting in the chair where it all began, holding the hardcover book that contains all of the portraits, stories, and beauty of connection. Plus it includes, as most of you know by now, a search and find… 🙂 by the way, when you get your copy of the book, please feel free to let me know when you find all of the 🟢circles!”

All money raised from the selling of the portraits will be donated to Haven Conway, a qualified residential treatment program for adolescent females in foster care between the ages of 12 and 18 who have experienced trauma. A portion of the proceeds made from each copy sold of the book will go to the Faulkner County Library system.
