60th Annual Delta Exhibition Opens
Who: Arkansas Arts Center
When: Opens Thursday and works will be on display until August 26
Where: Arkansas Arts Center, 501 E 9th St. in Little Rock
What: The Annual Delta Exhibition, founded in 1958, is one of the most anticipated Arkansas Arts Center exhibitions of the year. The Exhibition celebrates artists from the Mississippi Delta region provides and a glimpse into the contemporary art scene. The opening ceremony is sold out on Thursday evening, but you’ve got plenty of time to see these amazing works.
Red, White & Zoo Days
Who: The Little Rock Zoo
When: Saturday through Monday, 9 am to 5 p.m. daily.
Where: Little Rock Zoo, 1 Zoo Dr, Little Rock,
What: Celebrate Memorial Day Weekend at the Zoo with patriotic face paintings, a special event with the Arkansas Travelers and the elephants, lawn games, food specials and more. On Monday ONLY admission is $6 for active/non-active military guests. Regular admission for adults is $12.95, $9.95 for kids and kids 2 and under are free.
Who:BUBBLE RUN™ 5K
When: Saturday at 8 a.m.
Where: Arkansas State Fairgrounds – 2600 Howard Street, Little Rock
What: The BUBBLE RUN™ is far from your average 5K. It’s been compared to running through Willy Wonka’s factory. Clad in white T-shirts, adults, kids and strollers run, walk, dance and play across three miles of absolute fun! At each kilometer, participants will run through foam bogs where there is enough colored foam to cover you from head to toe! Oaklawn Foundation DinoTrek
Who: Hosted by Mid-America Science Museum
When: Opens Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: Mid-America Science Museum, 500 Mid America Blvd. in Hot Springs
What: The first of its kind in the state, the Oaklawn Foundation DinoTrek will put guests face to face with 18 dinosaurs ranging from the Cretaceous, Jurassic and Triassic periods. Complete with life-like sound effects and professional lighting. Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for kids.
