The Next Act: Rally for the Rep

After the Arkansas Repertory Theatre’s announcement last week that it would suspend operations, volunteers and friends of the theater have come together to “Rally for the Rep.”

The rally is set for 5 p.m. today in front of the theater at 601 Main Street in Little Rock. There will be live music from the Greasy Greens and Rep founder Cliff Baker plans to attend the event. The theater aims to raise $750,000 as soon as possible, and then to begin its “Next Act” fundraising campaign so that the financial future of the Rep is assured.

While all productions are suspended, the theater is still set to host Ballet Arkansas in Concert with Drew Mays from Friday to Sunday. It will also continue to produce the Education at the Rep programs set for this spring and summer.

The theater is asking for donations and volunteers. Click here to donate, or visit the rally’s Facebook event page for more information.
