Out and About: A Sculptural Stroll

In my quest to be as healthy as possible, aka eat everything I want and gain 0 pounds, I’ve become somewhat of an avid walker. While I add 28 minutes of scripted torture on an elliptical and other gym-based activities twice a week or so to my routine, I most enjoy walking outside. When the weather allows, I like to walk along the Arkansas River on the Little Rock side. The sculptures in the Sculpture at the River Market, stretching from the Vogel Schwartz Sculpture Garden to the Clinton Presidential Center, along with the splendor of Mother Nature lend a lovely backdrop to my less-than-leisurely stroll, and I’m always thrilled to discover a new piece has been added.

Here are a few of the new additions Brittney, AY’s office manager, and I encountered during a recent walk. Several are so new the nameplates had not been added.

If you have the opportunity, gather the family — bikes are welcome — and explore the garden and the sculptures. It’s a sight that will leave you energized and proud to call Arkansas home.
