Poetry night is back at Guillermo’s, hosted by Central Arkansas poet Karen Hayes it will feature 2 rounds of open mic as well as a featured poet.  This week’s featured poet is LaKisha M. Johnson (LMJ), founder of LaKisha M. Johnson Ministries, and coFounder and executive director of Sickle Cell Support Services, which address sickle cell disease, a crippling disease that took her husband in 2014. LMJ draws upon that life changing experience as well as so many more, as the child of a single mom, a teen mom, domestic violence survivor and mother of five sons and four grandsons. All these experiences are reflected in her work as she uses her quirkiness and quick wit to tell her truth through her poetry, prose and short stories.
