Hometown: Fairhope, Alabama

First job: Dessert prepping at Yucatan Sam’s Mexican in Fairhope.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse? “On it,” and the “Amen” or “high ten” hands emoji.

What accomplishment are you most proud of? Being part of building a local business and a team that works together every day to build, nurture and expand our Arkansas food community through creating delicious fare and drink, and that has a great time doing it together.

What attracted you to your career? I have always been fascinated by the idea of having a hand in shaping a positive experience in someone’s daily life through design, whether it’s creating an environment in which to drink a beer with a friend, designing packaging that will entice a consumer to choose a product or creating a festival or event lineup for people to enjoy. Applications for design and creativity are so broad that having a career in those fields ensures I get to do something a little different every year, and sometimes every day.

What’s one thing about you that others would be surprised to know? I have had my text message notifications on for a year. I only manually check in. It was life-changing.

What do you love about what you do? I love that the things I love to do the most — designing, creating, problem solving, obsessing over colors and details and working with teams — is exactly what my job is. I feel very lucky to have a career doing what I love with the people that I love.

Hobbies: I don’t have a lot of time outside of work for hobbies, but fortunately many of the things I love doing I get to do as part of my work. When I have the chance, I like to travel as much as possible and see live music and in my downtime, I pore over magazines. I am a magazine junkie.

Where would you most like to live? Karasuma Oike, Kyoto, Japan.
