Interior design company Tom Chandler and Associates was called on to revamp this penthouse condo in one of downtown Little Rock’s most well-known developments.

The Chandler team had to work with several existing design elements from the condo’s initial 12-year-old décor scheme — including the water walls in the living room and bold, black-and-white marble flooring — to give this three bedroom, four bathroom home the elegant, yet functional, contemporary design it showcases today.
“The client trusted us completely with this condo. This was the third job we have done for them,” Chandler said. “They needed a secondary residence that would lend itself to entertaining visiting guests and also be family-oriented and comfortable.”
Living Room

This is the perfect room to entertain, watch the fireworks over the Arkansas River, or relax and watch television. Motorized floor-to-ceiling blackout curtains can quickly transform this space from a cozy, theater room — the television is concealed behind a painting that rolls away with the push of a button — to an elegant party room with a view extending from the state Capitol to the riverbanks.
Way of the Wild
This foyer exudes a safari feel. Located just outside the two guest bedrooms, it is a fun place for guests to congregate. Two elephant pedestal chairs are accented with pillows made of colorful, Moroccan-style fabric.
Perfect for Prep
Black granite countertops accented with cream-colored, overstuffed bar stools create an elegant bar area, perfect for entertaining. Wooden and black cabinetry mimics the marble floor pattern, and top-of-the-line Viking appliances create a full-functioning chef’s kitchen.
Black, White and Bold
Here, Chandler used the suspended ceiling to mimic the black-and-white floor pattern by painting it black. He also added a fun twist to large-scale dining by adding two chairs to each end of the table. The black chairs again echo the bold floor pattern.
“We chose this large Sandy Peters painting in the middle. We love supporting Arkansas artists, and it ties in the color nicely,” Chandler said.
Feminine from Floor to Ceiling
Floor-to-ceiling blackout red velvet curtains give this room instant appeal. “We wanted a contemporary feel with a feminine touch in this room,” Chandler said. “We painted the walls and the ceiling all the same color to make the space feel bigger than it is.”
A Place for Space
This spa-like bathroom is tucked away from the bedroom to create a sense of added privacy. The homeowners can relax and refresh after a night of entertaining in the soaking tub. His and her sinks offer added comfort and plenty of countertop space to this home away from home.
Grand Guests
Guests at this luxury high-rise condo are treated to contemporary design and breathtaking views of the city as well. Each guest bedroom overlooks the Capitol and has its own private bathroom for maximum privacy and a hotel-like atmosphere.
